So enough for now about the phony "science" of global warming..ummm climate change? Whatever.
Lets move on to some other lies that I'm pretty sure we can all agree on. Obama and the dems are lying about the cost of their healthcare "reform". They're saying 1 TRILLION dollars. Which somehow according to them will lower the deficit.
CATO says 6.25 trillion.
Who you gonna believe?
Oh and of course the "You Lie" controversy/debate is also over.

What I do know is that other nations spend half what we do per capita on healthcare while still giving everyone coverage. That is what we need to do. The means are open to debate.
What you do know?
You really don't know much.
the quality of care in general is better here than anywhere in the world. You get what you pay for.
Everyone here gets healthcare.
The U.S. subsidizes the socialist health insurance in many of these countries with the higher price we pay for drugs and other supplies.
In fact this is something i know from personal experience. I work with a company that distributes dental supplies and one of the biggest problems they have is with so called "gray market" companies. These illegitimate dealers buy their supplies in Canada and resell them illegally here in the U.S. at less than half the cost that the company i work with pays for these supplies.
Canada dictates to these big companies like 3m and Kerr what they are willing to pay. So these corporations charge us more to make up for the loss in profit.
This is a FACT.
Another angle that we ignore is the fact that the Health Care industry is a huge employer. It's 1/6th of the economy but is that a bad thing? Think about the wealth that is created by this industry. It's massive. doctors, nurses, hospital janitors, pharma ceo's,pharma office cleaners, etc. Stocks,401ks,IRA's, etc.
Why would we want to take this huge industry and put it in the hands of the government?
Poor people need health insurance? Isn't that what medicare is for?
Shit i can go on and on but the truth is this is just another power/money grab by the government.
Your level of ignorance is staggering. Read T.R. Reid's "The Healing of America" for a good description of the very different healthcare systems in other countries. Yes we pay more for drugs. If we adopted a system like France or Germany or Japan, etc. we would pay less for drugs.
Everyone does not get healthcare. Sure if you have a heart attack on the street you will get treated. But you will not get treated for an ongoing heart condition or diabetes or cancer or lupus, etc.
And yes all of the other wealthy countries have some degree of government involvement. In England the government owns the hospitals and the governvent pays the doctors through tax money. In Japan the doctors and hospitals are private and most get healthcare through their employers, the rest through community insurance plans or throught the government. Some coutries have had problems with waiting periods for some procedures, others have shorter waits than we do.
Canada dictates drug prices so they gouge us? OK, then let us dictate prices too.
The question really is one of values: should a wealthy, civilized country offer universal healthcare? You say no. I say yes. So does every other wealthy country. In some of these countries the reforms were opposed by conservatives. Now the conservatives support it.
But I know, it's a plot. Paranoid much?
typical socialist mentality.
not surprising really coming from you.
So tell me gary. How many new life saving drugs will be created by Pfizer when they can't make a profit? Seriously take a look at the % of profit these companies make and tell me how you think they can afford to keep up the Billions of dollars in R&D to create these drugs?
Tell me how they can continue to employ so many people?
etc. etc.
You're so naive it's scary really.
I'm not agaist Pfizer making a profit. But really, every other major wealthy industrialized nation has universal healthcare. But if we adopt it the world will come to an end?
I'm not a socialist but we can discuss that soon when I finish the Hayek book.
Ah, well it was considered a conservative blog when he helped debunk the Dan Rather/Bush memos. What's the matter, he's not crazy enough to be conservative? Did you read it? Believe me, you need to.
Oh, look the debate isn't quite over:
http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=seven-answers-to-climate-contrarian-nonsense
Since you are probably too chicken to actually read it, here's my favorite quote:
"It is virtually impossible to disprove accusations of giant global conspiracies to those already convinced of them."
I know, Scientific American is surely part of the plot.
I'm not usually one to take pleasure in others misery, but I'm thoroughly enjoying yours. This must be killing you inside. I know its your role as a troll to keep up the charade, but its apparent that you are hurting and I almost feel bad for you.
But I'm not. Game over jackass. If I were you I wouldn't read any of the news coming out of Hopenchangen, you're not going to like it very much.
I assume you either didn't read the "Scientific American" piece, or read it but couldn't understand it, or read it but couldn't refute it. Which?
The debate is actually over,or very close to it, and on my side, but I take no pleasure in it as it means the planet and its people are in serious trouble. Its your side that is desperatly looking for fake facts and phony scandals to derail attempts to actually do something about the problem.
Why would I read it? I wouldnt even wipe my ass with it. Global warming is dead, long live the Donk.
