Here's where the right gets it wrong and allows the left to frame the debate so that no one wins and when no one wins everybody loses. I'm talking to you O'Reilly and Hannity.
The argument against Ward Churchill, of which I fully support the school boards decision is that he iswas a plagiarist as well as a professional and personal fraud. Only problem is man, he ain't even Indian.
As conservatives we must never let our personal good taste and conscience get in the way our conservative reading of the Constitution otherwise we will be no better than the interpretive dance troupe that is the liberal party.
This is America and disgusting ignorant and erroneous speech, and that is exactly what it was, is just as protected as any other.
No one is forced to take his class. If this was K-18, then it would be a whore of another color, but this is where the free market kicks in. If you don't like the curriculum of a school then don't send your kids there, and if they wanna pay the bills themselves then it is their right to do so.
But back to the crux of the biscuit...
By focusing on the Lil Eichmanns statement we not only risk being seen as using and abusing the liberal tactic of moral high groundery regarding 9/11 and allow the left to portray us as violaters of the First Amendment but more importantly we allow the issues of the case which are professional accountability and truthfulness to be lost.
It is not happenstance that those two things are the bane of the Democrat Party and their union base, and by ignoring them to focus on an ignorant sound bite plays right into their hands.
Churchill was fired for violating the cardinal sin of academia, stealing the intellectual property of another. Case closed. The fact that he was exposed to have lied about being down with the Navajo is just insult to injury, although lying on your resume is yet another fireable offense of which he was guilty.
The liberal argument can never win against conservatism so long as we stick to the facts and refuse to fall for their ruse of diversions distortions and distractions. The truth shall set us free.
Amen!

Very Goldwaterish of you.
Nice, Nice..
he also lied about his roles in viet nam, plus he said he was connected with the weather underground, despite the fact that none of the weathermen have any recollection of him.
i just don't understand how he got tenure in the first place.
well, of course, it IS boulder.
What kind of person would lie about being in a jazz fusion band? Thats just sad.
hey! i just happen to like weather report. in fact, i recently got their boxed set, "forecast: tomorrow." and i think i'll listen to it now on this lovely summer day.
(i am NOT a nerd, i just enjoy my white castle)
but, actually, most other "fusion" bands really are kind of sloppy seconds ... to weather report, that is.
