Take the pledge, and tell the NRSC:
"If the United States Senate passes a resolution, non-binding or otherwise, that criticizes the commitment of additional troops to Iraq that General Petraeus has asked for and that the president has pledged, and if the Senate does so after the testimony of General Petraeus on January 23 that such a resolution will be an encouragement to the enemy, I will not contribute to any Republican senator who voted for the resolution. Further, if any Republican senator who votes for such a resolution is a candidate for re-election in 2008, I will not contributeto the National Republican Senatorial Committee unless the Chairman of thatCommittee, Senator Ensign, commits in writing that none of the funds of the NRSCwill go to support the re-election of any senator supporting the non-binding resolution.

Hugh Hewitt adds:
Then e-mail Senator McConnell and Senator Ensign, and tell them too. Senator McConnell’s phone number is (202)224-2541. Senator Ensign’s phone number is (202) 224-6244.
Still more about this from Hewitt HERE.
Make this a blog swarm–wake those bastards up!I am furious at their betrayal. Their damn Senate seats are nothing to me compared to national security and our military. Like those who lost in November, they are all replaceable. Hagel’s been a lost cause for a long time, but John Warner? Self-serving piece of shit. He’s no better than the other self-serving piece of shit Senator (Webb) in Virginia. They’re definitely two of a kind.I don’t even care if you want to copy this post in its entirety to yours, just get the word out. And WRITE/CALL the NRSC and Senate Republican leadership to put a stop to this bullshit appeasement! It has nothing to do with the war, and everything to do with self-preservation!"
Im in!

God forbid that a Republican Senator vote (in a nonbinding resolution no less) against a stupid policy that won't work.
Now here's what's going to happen:
1. Congress passes nonbinding resolution with Republican defectors.
2. Bush carries out stupid plan anyway.
3. Stupid plan doesn't work.
4. Situation in Iraq worsens.Bush presidency an utter failure.
Bush either a)leaves Iraq b)leaves the problem to his Democratic successor or c) attacks Iran.
If c: all hell breaks loose.
thanks for the pep talk gary!
So anyway, i would encourage everyone to make the pledge as i have already done.
