The Only Issue This Election Day
By Orson Scott Card
There is only one issue in this election that will matter five or ten years from now, and that's the War on Terror.
And the success of the War on Terror now teeters on the fulcrum of this election.
If control of the House passes into Democratic hands, there are enough withdraw-on-a-timetable Democrats in positions of prominence that it will not only seem to be a victory for our enemies, it will be one.

Excellent, and i think there's more dems out there like him
Bush lost the Iraq war and you just haven't figured it out yet.
You know Gary, its one thing to say we are losing (which we arent)or that things arent going as well as planned (they arent) but to say we have lost when we still have men and women on the ground is a fucking scumbag move. You disgust me.
Daniel Ellsberg talked to a Colonel on the ground in Vietnam in 1961 who told him that we were going to lose that war. The US government should have listened to that man. I call them like I see them. Donkey, your comment is rather uncivil.
Ellsberg is a traitor. I suppose you agree with him that the US gov't was behind 9/11 as well.
Uncivil? Me? You must have misinterpreted my comment. I just call em like I see em.
Ellsberg knows more about Vietnam that you and I put together. He went to Vietnam in 1961 for the Pentagon, and again later, where he saw combat. He was in Washington when the phony Gulf of Tonkin incident happened. He is one of the few people in the world who have read all 7000 pages of the Pentagon Papers, which he courageously leaked to the NY Times.
I wish we had a few more "traitors" like Daniel Ellsberg.
Gary let it go man. Vietnam is over. The democrats got us into that war and the democrats lost it for us. Dont let your hippie guilt sabatoge this very real War on Terror. Im sorry for you that the sixties are over, but seriously dude...LET IT GO.
yeah gary, haven't we already been over this? We will always see this guy as a traitor, and if it wasn't for the problems of the nixon admin. he would be in prison right now.
Well, Ellsberg didn't go to prison but a lot of people in the Nixon administation did. In fact, it was the leaks that led to Watergate and Nixon ultimately resigning. I call it justice.
