Books Wouldnt Be Made With Paper If They Werent Meant To Be Burned

Now this 9/11 mini-series controversey is getting crazy. Its a frickin movie and probably a bad one that nobody wouldve watched before this at that. The Dems must not be as confident about November as they were letting on. Why the panic? Why the hysteria? Because they are worried people will remember that they didnt have a plan to combat terrorism than just as they dont now.

But thats not the point...

These are very dangerous whitewaters we are treading on. Do we really want a political party dictating what can be aired over public airwaves. Arent these the same dems that get all indignant and cry free speech from the towers when the religious right get all prudish about tv. Theres alot more offensive programming on tv than this. Wheres the outrage over Commander in Chief, think of that, a woman President like thats accurate (oh its been cancelled...nevermind) With all they hype surrounding this series the concern that people will be misinformed is misguided, if viewers havent heard about the controversy by now then they probaly wont watch the movie either. No problem then. Now move on.

Donkeyhue, you seem to have changed your tune from your previous post on this subject ... what's up with that?

How so. That I think that the entertainment world needs to show a little more responsibility but not be censored by any one political party or government agency. I give Michael Moore shit for making shit up for his "documentaries" Ill give ABC shit too. You cant make stuff up and say its true. The sad thing is there was no need for this. Everything the dems are crying about actually happened just by different people. Ok replace Albright with a Pentagan official, boom 100% accurate. Replace Berger with Tenet, boom 100% true, replace Monica with someone hot, boom, well just replace the cow cause itll make for better tv.

While I will defend Bubba's right to be pissed, this just goes to show you once again that the democrat party is not of the people but of the courts and the lawyers.

Its relevant to everyone, when one party tries to dictate what can or can not be broadcast over public airwaves as that smacks of fascism any way you slice it.

Me? personally I got a Giants game and had no plans to watch it anyways, but thats just me.

GO BIG BLUE!

i think the word 'fascism' is being thrown around waaay to much these days ... on both the left and the right.

other words being over-used:

appeasement
hitler
etc.
etc.

I agree. But in this case a political wing calling for the forced censorship of a private entity's work of art pretty much nails it on the frickin head.

I wouldn't exactly call this "docudrama" a "work of art."

Even you said:

"The story of 911 should not be treated like a Stephen King novel adapted for the big screen with some director taking artistic liberties with the truth."

If the tables were turned, and your man, Pat Buchanan, were being misrepresented in this fashion, I bet you'd be Eee-Awwing just like Bubba.

Theres a big difference between bitching and braying and actually siccing lawyers and senior democrat leaders on the artiste in question.

..and one mans art is another mans trash so stop being a snob.

i think it's bullshit, but donkey's right. If we can't censor michael moore for his lies, we can't censor this bullshit either.

I watched the game, and forgot that the show was on. i hope you guys enjoyed it.
