Legalize The Irish

Here's the problem with these pictures. Why arent they wearing them? Thats the problem with politicians these days, they lack heart. What would Reagan or Bubba have done? Of course they wouldve thrown em over their necks, threw down a pint, and sang the Rare Old Mountain Dew. Love em or hate em they had character. The Irish-American voting block is still a force to be reckoned with and for these two liberals, not a vote to be taken for granted like in the old days. The middle class union donkey vote is no longer guaranteed to the dems.

Put the damn shirt on ya damn hippies

Especially considering teddy is Irish, and Hillary was married to a bastard love child of a drunken donkey. (on a side note I would like to add that as much as I despise Bubba and incessantly insult him, two things I give him credit for were opening up GPS for civilian use, and his genuine concern and involvement in the Northern Irish Peace Process.) I dont know why Im really posting about this, considering I dont agree with the politics of this organization as a whole regarding amnesty for illegal aliens, (I think considering the great sacrifices and contributions the Irish have made there should be a blanket exception for them and a select few) However being that me ma was illegal and the t-shirts are pretty cool. (on sale at O'Neills on 45th and 3rd) Ill give em a plug. Click on pic to learn more.

Well I have some mixed feelings on immigration and its hard to say because where is it ok for one generation, but not the next? There are those that think they do 'nasty' jobs that nobody wants to do. Then a dark bad side of me says make the unemployed 8% of the population get off their high horses and do them.

One thing that rattles my liberalism is the fact that my 'been here since the stone age' relatives have drilled a work ethic into me. We were always told that there is dignity in work, even if its dirty work. Work is far better than loafing, that loafing is the only work that is beneath us. So, the idea that we have this self righteous group that think they are 'above' being waitresses or gardeners but meanwhile they are able bodied but fussy kind of sticks in my craw. I will admit to having a bratty side but honestly people that thumb their noses at hard working people pisses me off. And much of the infrastructure of New York was built on the backs of irish immigrant labor.

Being a carpet bagger, Hillary really should realize that she should pander to more people than just African Americans. But Democrats think the Irish are Catholic pro-lifers that won't vote for them anyway so why bother?

Or so it looks to me.

There are no jobs that Americans won't or can't do. That is a myth, and it's a stupid one at that.
Also, we have always discriminated with regard to immigration. I'm not saying it's right, i'm just saying it has always been there.
More importantly, times have changed, and the benefit of the immigrant has changed, from ours to theirs.
In other words, there was a time when we needed them, now it's the other way around.
Today the mexican immigrant hurts the economy, and the community more than he helps.
I say build the fence.
By the way, my father is first generation American, my mothers family has been here forever.

Hillary is too concerned about mussing up her hair to put on the shirt. Plus, she doesn't want to "wear" any political message because it just makes it harder to run away from later when she needs to grovel from the other side of her mouth. And Ted, well, I imagine it just doesn't fit and he doesn't to be seen bursting out at the seams.

In terms of "sacrifices and contributions" ... I don't think the Irish are the only immigrant group to wear that badge of honor. Therefore, I don't think that's a valid critera "blanket" exception to the immigration rules.

I was by no means saying they are the only ones, to be clear. I am just saying pretty much what Rhino said, that there was a time when we needed the labor very badly as we grew and become increasingly industrialized.

No matter. I'll let you pick on Anita for a while.

I said it. Thats right. The Irish get a pass. Didnt say theyre the only ones, but for the sake of this post I think we can all agree that theyre a good start.

Forever ever Rhino?? I didnt know you was american indian. Its so easy to say that this person and that person shouldnt be allowed in the country. But doesnt it all sound familiar. Didn't the ORIGINAL invaders-i mean settlers- feel the same way?

i think you said it right warlike. the original europeans were invaders, conquerers, and settlers. they weren't immigrants.
The next wave was immigrants, and we discriminated then too.
Forever meaning since the begining of civilized life. I don't count the time before the white man.
Was there a time before the white man?
