Et Tu Bush?

It is now clear to me that the Republican Party and George W Bush specifically have turned their backs on the Conservatives that put them in office. In regards to the Iraq war I always gave W and his neocon junta the benefit of the doubt because I always felt whether I agreed with the Iraq War or not it is best to err on the side of strength than weakness in the War on Terror. However, the Supreme Court is a whole different matter. Now dont get me wrong both Roberts and Miers may turn out to be fine jurists in the Scalia and Thomas mold...but they might be Souters and O'Connors in Republican clothing, we dont know, and that is where W betrayed his Conservative constituency. He took the road so often travelled by career politicians, promise the voters one thing and then once elected to go right back the the old boy school of cronyism. Shame on Bush for being so arrogant to think only those in his "inner circle" are qualified for such posts. Shame on Bush for being afraid of the fight that lay ahead when he kept his promise to conservative voters by nominating a strict constitutionalist. Shame on Bush for being a p#ssy. This could be the straw that broke the Republican Party's back. Conservatives have become the blacks of the Republican party, but "There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again."

hey donkey, you're right, just as the blacks always vote democrat, the conservatives always vote republican! The one time we didn't was perot, and that got us stuck with clinton for 8 years. The truth is, we need a third party, the dems are way left, the republicans are middle of the road, the majority of Americans are on the right, it's about time that we had someone who represents our views in washington. I would like to suggest ann coulter, maybe for president, or maybe Queen or something like that!

hey wife, that would be great, but this president has shown, from his supreme court picks, to the border, to the out of the stratosphere spending, that he doesn't care about the conservative base that got him elected. We needed 8 years of clinton to push everyone to the right, maybe we need 4 more to finish the job? Or maybe we could elect a guy like Rick Santorum, but i doubt he could get the republican nomination.
