I hate to say it but we are NOT safer today than we were 11 years ago. I will never forget this day, where I was, how I heard, how i thought it was an accident and then the 2nd plane hit,who we lost, walking downtown from midtown trying to get to the area to see what i could do. the lines of people there to give blood. The walk home to Brooklyn over the Williamsburg Bridge. The hundreds of Hasidic Jews standing on the other side of the bridge with thousands of bottles of water. It was hot that day. Some people were crying but most of us were just numb.
I will never forget it. Never.
