Hank Paulson was just on CNBC, defending his abysmal track record by saying that "he wasn't an economist", well isn't that great, but shouldn't he have let that cat out of the bag before accepting the job as Secretary of the Treasury. Just sayin'.
It reminded me of a passage from a book I just started reading, 'The Sugar King of Havana: The Rise And Fall of Julio Lobo.'
"Guevara certainly made for an unlikely central banker. He loved telling the story of how he got the job. Supposedly, at a cabinet meeting to decide who should be the new bank governor, Fidel Castro had said that what he needed was a good "economista." Guevara stuck up his hand, much to Castro's surprise. "But Che, I didn't know you were an economist!" Oh I thought you said you needed a good "comunista," Guevara replied."
Thats right, Occupy Wall St., the mustached guy on your shirt was a banker, and a dumb one at that.

Paulson is right up there with Rubin. Their loyalty lies with Goldman Sachs not matter their politics.
