History... It Really Does Repeat Itself

Haven't we heard this before? If we spend/stimulate/invest we will get jobs. It will get us out of this mess.

Well lets look at the evidence. Approximately 500 billion spent to "stimulate" the economy under G.W. Bush and then over 1 trillion dollars so far under Obama. That's 1.5 trillion dollars and we have record unemployment, record home foreclosures, record numbers of people on food stamps, record numbers for length of time on unemployment assistance.

So now Obama proposes another 500 billion in spending. Somehow this "investment" will make a difference where the other 1.5 TRILLION dollars didn't.

Really? That's the job speech?

2012 can't come soon enough.

It's obvious what should have been done after the Bush economic collapse: a tax cut for working people, which Obama did but doesn't get credit for because only cuts for the rich count with them; end the Bush tax cuts; spend 700 billion to a trillion on repairing our infrastructure, which is in a shocking state of disrepair, which would mean JOBS. But of course that wasn't possible because of Republicans, the people who got us in this mess to begin with.

I still think Obama will be re-elected but of course anything can happen in politics.

The Dems have controlled Congress for 5 of the last six years and the WH the past 3. We have spent 1.5 trillion between Bush/Obama and it hasnt created shit. Didnt Pelosi say if we passed the last stimulus it would create JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS and JOBS???

What dont you understand. All you know is blame.

Only a liberal could argue that when a trillion dollars fails, that 500B would work. Obama's speech was literally less is more. Suckers.

Way things are shaping up, I could beat Obama in '12.
