In May 2007, the Democrats raised the minimum wage. If you look through our archives, you will see both Rhino and I arguing how this would lead to staggering unemployment among the young, the poor, and minorities.
As always, we were right. Notice the date.
"The 50.1 percent figure is almost double the average teen unemployment rate in June 2007 in the District, when it was 26.2 percent, according to Saltsman."

The sad part about this is that even though Donkey claims to be as smart as a rocket scientist,(he's not) really anyone who pays attention could have correctly predicted the same thing.
Just like raising taxes usually backfires and ends up with lower tax revenue.
History really is a good teacher...if you open your mind and you're willing to learn. And if you're not so arrogant that you think YOU are so smart that You can make it work where everyone else has failed.
Correlation does not always imply causation. There are numerous variables at work here. And the minimum wage is just one of them.

Christine.. you make a good point. Sometimes you can increase taxes and revenue won't go down like if the economy is booming and the rates were already pretty low and reasonable etc.
However when it comes to the minimum wage the result has always been the same. Employers who have minimum wage employees doing menial tasks like busing tables will find another way. They HAVE to in most cases.
More importantly I can guarantee you that the opposite would be true. If you eliminated the minimum wage employment among teens and the un/under educated would certainly go up.
Never claimed it was the only reason, but its a big one, and everytime the min wage has been increased, so has unemployment. Every time.
Failed liberal public education, uncertain tax rates, Obamacare, illegal immigration, and NAFTA are also a few other contributing factors.

In the previous post you blindly defended a scientist who saw a few dead polar bears from a plane, deduced they had drown, blamed global warming, and then had his wife peer review his work, but when faced with cold hard fact that every time the min wage has been raised, unemployment has gone up you spew jibberish.
