Should be noted that that economy was AAA rated, as it has always been.
...and also that Gov Perry also inherited a "Bush economy" and Texas seems to be doing pretty ok.
Six years of Dem controlled Congress and two years in the WH and they fuck everything up.
But yeah, go ahead and blame the Tea Party and promise to raise taxes, thats a sure winner in '12.

As bad as he's been domestically I think he might be worse on foreign policy and that's why he will take the trophy from Carter.
He came in promising to end the war in Iraq. He didn't.
He doubled down in Afghanistan
He royally screwed Mubarek in Egypt the way Carter fucked over the Shah of Iran.- and this is looking like it will end the same way.
He got us involved in Libya (still not sure why?)
He didn't take advantage of the uprising in Iran (still not sure why)
Syria is a mess and he's voting present on that one.
He's totally alienated the only true democracy and our staunchest ally in that region (Israel)
No free trade agreement with Colombia because he doesn't want to piss off the commies in Venezuela

See, there was a widely circulated picture making the rounds back in 2002 of a "pro-war supporter" carrying a sign that said "get a brain morans!" Problem is, the protester was actually an anti-war protester mocking those that support the troops, but it fit into the narrative of conservatives, so the left ran with it, and kept running, as demonstrated by Gary using the non-sensical rebuttal 9 years later. He cant think for himself, so he regurgitates decade old rhetoric.
Speaking of anti-war protests.... seen any lately? Cuz I sure as hell havent, and they was once ever weekend at Union Square park when Bush was in office. They must have got jobs or something.
