Liberals Hate Democracy
"One-party autocracy certainly has its drawbacks. But when it is led by a reasonably enlightened group of people, as China is today, it can also have great advantages. That one party can just impose the politically difficult but critically important policies needed to move a society forward in the 21st century" Thomas Friedman

As but one example of Friedman's "drawbacks" had it's anniversary yesterday, Tianannen Square. Just a flesh wound.
Friedman has been defending China for years. Like the liberals in the 20's and 30's who thought the Fascists in Italy were all the rage and of course the liberals in the 30's and 40's who thought Communism was the only way to go.
Clearly Friedman is not a fan of democracy and liberty. Probably because he thinks (like ted kennedy) that socialism/communism only failed because they didn't have someone smart like him to run it for them.
Friedman is an intelligent man but he's not very smart.
