Last Adult On The Left?

Gates comment yesterday that "Libya is not a vital interest" seems to be getting all the traction today and rightly so, but it's a shame, because when Hillary jumped to his defense, she made the most compelling and reasonable sounding argument for our war with Libya so far. She pointed out that we asked NATO for help in Afghanistan/Iraq and they obliged, now they have asked for our help in Libya. It's what allies do. Makes sense, and I would even buy into it, if the rebels we are supporting in Libya weren't chock full o' alqaeda. Sometimes the enemy of our enemy is still our enemy.
