Teacher,Teach Thyself

“You’re leading people in a dangerous direction, making it seem like you can judge the quality of a teacher by … a test,” said A.J. Duffy, president of United Teachers Los Angeles

Its been a while, but isnt that pretty much how school works?

No, no, no. You can't test them. That doesn't work. The best method is to just ask them if they are a good teacher. If they say no then you re-educate them. If they say yes, then it's all good.

Let me be more clear since its obvious you want to avoid this subject....democrats have failed the children in this country, because they are beholden to the teachers unions.

Yes, I understand: unions bad, large corporations good.

when i was in high school i had a part time job doing secretarial work for the monmouth county chapter of the new jersey teachers association (NJEA).

when i started, i assumed the members dealt with ... ummm ... educational issues. makes sense, right?

well, no. that was not the case at all. it was all about money, benefits and threats of strikes. and i have to say, the representatives of the local districts and the president of the association herself could only be discribed as mean.

i saw a side of teachers i never saw in the classroom. it was then that i decided i would never become a teacher.

don't get me wrong, i am not against unions in general. but in this case it seems that some (i repeat some) teachers do not always act, as they say in the law, "in the best interests of the children."

uh oh. am i starting to turn into the rhinoculous?
