Since 1948

The British have been trying to find a way to make government health insurance work.

They haven't been able to do it.

And now Obama,Pelosi, and Reid are going to come up with a plan that does work?

So ridiculous. We have the best health care/health insurance system in the world. It's not perfect, but it's the best thing in existence. Now if you tell me you wnat to improve it and you have an idea to improve it I'm willing to listen, but when your idea is modeled after failed systems in other countries how do you think it's going to go?

Read The Healing of America by T.R. Reed. If the British system doesn't work why is it so popular in Britain? It's not perfect but it works. Every major industrialized nation has universal healthcare. Some have single-payer, some have private health insurance, all have their strengths and weaknesses. Generally, they cover everybody and at half the cost, per capita. If they can do it so can we.

read the article i linked to dumbass.

The system doesn't work. It never has and it never will. The costs can't be sustained.

If it's popular at all it's probably only because the people don't know anything else and they're afraid that any other system would be worse.

Of course the last part of you statement is ridiculously misleading. The quality of care in this country is so much greater than anywhere else in the world and IF the costs per capita are higher it is by choice since most people have private health insurance.

I am a proud American and I believe we are the greatest country in the world but not because we're smarter than the rest of the world and we're the only ones that can figure out how to make socialism work.

I read the article dumbass. Read the book I recommended. And since we are the greatest country in the world we can provide health care to everyone, as do all the other industrialized nations. And we can do it better. And we will.

Um, we already provide health care for everyone. Since when have we not?

gary said...

No we don't getlive. Sure if I have a heart attack on the streets I will be treated in an emergency room. But for ongoing treatment for heart disease, or diabetes, or cancer, millions do not have health insurance and access to ongoing health care.

Getlive said...

Um, again, they absolutely have access. When did access of ongoing treatment and health care cease to exist in this country?

Isn't that what medicaid or medicare is for?

gary said...

So Rhino let's extend medicare to everyone.

Getlive said...

Everyone doesn't need it. Get a job.

Rhino-itall said...

exactly.

Why would we extend medicare to everyone? I already have health insurance and I like it and I can afford it.

I'm happy to contribute my share to the helpless among us..but i'm not too pleased with helping the shiftless.

You should move to N.Dakota or Alaska gary. I'm hearing they're the states that are creating the most jobs.
