As we have been saying here at The Aurora since the "climategate" story broke, global warming is confirmed as a fraud. Are there thousands of scientists in on the fraud? Maybe, but probably not. The more likely scenario is the one I have mentioned repeatedly.
CRU is THE clearing house for the temperature data. They are the ones who crunch the #'s and "translate" the data that other scientists use as a baseline for their own studies. If the numbers coming from them are off then everything that follows is wrong.
If we believed that the sun rotated around the earth and started from that premise then all of the studies from all of the smartest, most honest, scientists in the world would still be wrong.
Now we get news from that Russians (the f-n russians of all people) that confirms the CRU have been fudging the numbers. (not to mention the fudge factor computer programing which is another story that I should have done a post on but just don't have the time. but check it out)

Amazing how quick you are to leap onto anything that supports your position, while ignoring most of the real science because you think it's a hoax. Over the last few years I recall only one link to something by an actual climate scientist, and that was in a Lyndon LaRouche magazine, not a scientific journal. True there was also the retired coal scientist, along with a whole bunch of of journalists, including Lord Monckton.
As for the Institute of Economic Analysis, I was not familiar with it, nor have I read their study which is so far only available in machine-translated English. So we're even there. Googling them shows they are a rightwing think-tank (surprise!). For an analysis of their data see:

It never ceases to amaze me how you can dismiss the Royal Society, NAS, AAAS, IPCC and more, but jump at any rightwing blogger, Exxon-funded hack, or journalist who supports your position. I see now that you think the science supports you only because you ignore the massive amount of science that does not. Meanwhile, Time has a good article on the melting of the Himalayan glaciers, which will have dire consequences to the people in the area, actually measured by scientists and caused by AGW. Guess the glaciers, like the ice caps, didn't get the memo on ClimageGate.

Sure, Get ignore my points just like you ignore the science. But why is the obscure scientist publishing in the LaRouche magazine (cited here at The Aurora) more credible than the thousands of scientists who publish in peer-reviewed journals? Why is the retired coal scientist more credible than the National Academy of Sciences? Why is the journalist Lord Monckton more credible than the Royal Society? Because they're not part of the plot? Answer that if you can.
gary, you have to understand something. You cling to credibility as if it were the only thing that influences your decisions. Maybe it does. The bottom line is a fact is a fact. So, you can have the most credible source telling the most incredible story. What if the most credible source has it's facts incorrect? It's not the source that is not credible it's the information. You need to think of all this and not cling to the credibility of the source. Focus on the facts. If you could think on your own you would understand what I am talking about. But you can't and continue to debate without facts and argue about who is credible and who isn't. My argument is not one of credibility, it is one of truth.
I'm not the one who got caught with their pants down around their ankles on a cold windy day. CRU got exposed and now you can't even stop to think "oh shit, maybe the information was faulty." YOU DON'T THINK FOR YOURSELF, you continue to follow the herd. I don't care who's side your on, don't you see this and go "wow, have the numbers really been fudged? Is the code all fucked up that it spits out figures that are incorrect?" No, you don't even ask the questions. You just pick your side and stand on your side of the fence yelling "your sources suck". First, ClimateGate doesn't prove what you guys think it does.
Second, dismiss CRU and everyone who uses their research and data, and AGW is still happening, the ice caps are melting, the glaciers are melting. I have credible sources with a credible story. You have incredible sources with an incredible story. Hell, Rhino thinks the earth is cooling.
It's not that the overwhelming scientific consensus for AGW could not conceivably be wrong. You just haven't presented anything at all credible to show that it is.
What it proves is that no one really fucking knows if AGW is really happening!
The bottom line is this thing has become so politicized we will never know what the hell is really happening. I for one don't find ANY source credible anymore.

Why must it be? Look, this petition has been addressed at The Aurora before. Some of them are scientists, some of those may even be climatologists, and some of those may have done actual research on GW. But not very many. It's a PR stunt.
They're all PR stunts, political agendas and big business lobbying on BOTH sides of the debate. Truth is we don't really know what is credible anymore on this. It's just a mess.
If you believe that perhaps you should suspend judgement.
My judgment as I have been saying in this post is we don't know. I for one don't know (and never really will since I am not a climatologist). I will not suspend judgment because there is an answer out there somewhere.

Global warming is dead? Obviously is is only a political reality to you. The reality of global warming is happening regardless and if the politicians do nothing it will only get worse.
The globe warms, and it has. The globe cools, as it is now doing. There has never been one ounce of proof linking man's carbon output to either of those event. For all the articles you link and the organizations that you cite, you have never been able to provide us with that one piece of information. The science of agw is dead, and now thanks to Copenehagen the politics is dead too. You lose.
Why is the arctic ice cap melting if the Earth is cooling? Why are the glaciers melting if the earth is cooling? The earth is not cooling, that's just something you read on the internet somewhere. The scientists disagree with you and I'll go with them over some guy on the internet calling himself Donkey.
