Climate change: this is the worst scientific scandal of our generation
Our hopelessly compromised scientific establishment cannot be allowed to get away with the Climategate whitewash, says Christopher Booker.
A week after my colleague James Delingpole , on his Telegraph blog, coined the term "Climategate" to describe the scandal revealed by the leaked emails from the University of East Anglia's Climatic Research Unit, Google was showing that the word now appears across the internet more than nine million times. But in all these acres of electronic coverage, one hugely relevant point about these thousands of documents has largely been missed.
The reason why even the Guardian's George Monbiot has expressed total shock and dismay at the picture revealed by the documents is that their authors are not just any old bunch of academics. Their importance cannot be overestimated, What we are looking at here is the small group of scientists who have for years been more influential in driving the worldwide alarm over global warming than any others, not least through the role they play at the heart of the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

Geezus, "ClimateGate" again? Saying the debate is over doesn't end the debate. Gerald Posner tried that in the JFK case with his book "Case Closed."
Christopher Booker is a longtime global warming denier, with a history of making false claims, not only about GW but about asbestos and tobacco smoke. All of your links are to the usual suspects, and they do not have it in their power to end the debate.
The "ClimateGate" emails, although they raise a few questions, do not even prove fraud among the small handful of scientists involved, and provide no evidence of fraud beyond that group.
Meanwhile the actual science continues, as in this study in Geophysical Research Letters, showing evidence that the oceans, as they get warmer, may be absorbing CO2 more slowly.

The scientist involved works not at East Anglia but Yale. Of course, in you "mind" (and I must put that in quotes) "ClimateGate" has proven what you already knew, that GW is alla plot of some kind.
Incidentally, the Discovery Institute, a group of evolution deniers like yourself, are now arguing that "ClimateGate" discredits not only climate science, but all of modern science and thus evolution as well. That's a degree of crazy I thought might interest you. But cover your eyes and your ears and keep saying over and over "the debate is over..the debate is over..."
But it isn't.By that I mean the political debate. The scientific debate is mostly over, with the reality of anthropogenic global warming being well-established.

all of the info that you quote comes from these three sources! East Anglia is where everyone goes to get the numbers to do their studies. every link you give us starts out there and is extrapolated from there.
In other words, even if every other scientist out there is honest it really doesn't matter. ALL OF THE RESEARCH IS COMPROMISED.
East Anlia is THE clearing house for this info. EVERYONE else who has done a study is doing it based on lies.
The "deniers" as you call them are the people who wanted to see the original data and were denied access.

Its funny to me that Gary has devoted an entire blog to conspiracy theories like who shot Kennedy or the Illuminati but when faced with an actual real conspiracy, conspiracy to decieve and silence, he starts making excuses. Funny.
Fact is that this debate is in fact over, yes the AGW science is now in question, yes the entire peer review process is now in question, but more importantly the political movement of the greenies is now in question. I no doubt expect Obama to make grand promises in Copenhagen, but one thing we have learned about Obama is that he doesn't keep his promises.

I have done a lot of reading and some research of my own on the Kennedy assassination. I do not believe in the Illuminati,any more than I believe global warming is a conspiracy. Scientists are human and science is never pristine but there is so much science behind AGW, most of which does not even involve the four or so scientists whose private emails have been so distorted to make a point they don't make.
If I were a conspiracy theorist, however, I might question of timing of this whole phony ClimateGate scandal right before Copenhagan.

Al Gore was asked about "ClimateGate" in this clip. It's anti-AGW but really I think Gore comes off looking better than the nutjobs screaming about the globalists and the NWO.

How many people/institutions have the wherewithal and financing to collect and analyze and extrapolate and calculate all of the data that would be necessary to figure this stuff out? Think of the sheer massiveness of it!
There's only a few (maybe only one) institutions that have ever even SEEN the raw data all together. The most influential of those ....DELETED THE RAW DATA! plus they have been exposed hiding other data etc. So all of these other institutions like YALE or whoever else is out there is basing all of their studies and reports etc. on the info that they've never actually seen or analyzed themselves.
Now you can put your FAITH in these proven liars if you want but that's all it is at this point. It's BLIND FAITH!

I do not believe that other institutions like Yale are relying on the East Anglia data. I doubt you can document this. Some scientists are actually measuring the dramatic decline in arctic sea ice, for example. I know, ice melts (if it gets warm enough--that's the point.)
Has ClimateGate convinced one scientist or one politician? I doubt it, which is why I don't think it's a game changer.
So you believe that every institution that does this works autonomously?
You think they all start from scratch? They all have their own weather stations? Satellites? etc.?

I think that even if we delete the East Anglia research and all studies using their data there is still strong evidence for AGW. You need to put East Anglia at the center of the nonexistent conspiracy. You live in an alternate rightwing bizarro-world. That's what I think.
Almost everything that the IPCC has put out is based on these frauds numbers, everyone else is riding the UN's coat tails....the whole damn court is out of order.

It is possible, although unlikely, that the phony "ClimateGate" scandal will be enough to deter the Congress from doing anything about global warming, which would be tragic as it is a real and serious problem. You keep repeating the same nonsense over and over. The emails do not prove what you say they prove, not outside of Winguttia.
Congress was already impotent before this scandal, when the world turns their back on this as they already are, whatever cover the dems had will evaporate and so will any and all climate related legislation. It is over, move on.
We'll see about Congress. The Earth, on the other hand, will continue to warm, the ice to melt, the seas to rise, regardless of what crazy things are believed by the crazy people.
Thats about the best point youve ever made and I doubt you even realize it. The earth will indeed warm and cool. The sun will rise and shine. Ice will melt and water will freeze and there is no legislation or tax that will change a damn thing.
