Listen to the Generals

We've heard from the generals who AREN'T running things tell us that we can't win, but have we listened to the one who is? Congressional dems cried for a new strategy and when they got one they declared it a failure before it began. We know of course that they care ONLY about personal power and they know that failure in Iraq will be gold for them in '08 so of course the only strategy they want is surrender.
It's still early, but the new strategy seems to be working so far.

What's that you say? That's not what you read in the ny slimes? That's not what hillary said?

Well lets listen to the Generals.

"Iraq is not a breeding ground for terrorists, but a burying ground."
General Petraeus

You realize of course that Bush got rid of the generals who would not toe the line. You realize that the Joint Chiefs had opposed the surge on the simple grounds that they did not think it would work. You realize that it is not working, don't you? No, I guess you don't, you ignorant, ideologically-blinded fool.

But don't worry, when you finally must admit that the surge did not work, you can blame the liberals. Pathetic.

You realize of course that Lincoln dismissed McClellan for the same reasons don't you?
You realize that McClellan not only didn't think the north could win but also didn't believe in the mission don't you?
You realize that a military commander of the United States of America, the greatest fighting force in the world who says we can't win is either a fool or a political opportunist don't you?

We can win and unless we quit we will win.

Pussy.

You realize that to put things into their historical perspectivem, thats what Presidents do... fire and hire Generals that more closely match their position. Its called leadership jackass.

For fucks sake, Gen. Patton got shit canned.

Its losers like you that actually root for defeat that are pathetic. We lost 90,000 men in three days against an enemy that actually wore uniforms, I suppose you would have had us surrender to Germany as well? Huh coward?

"It is a near certainty the U.S.-backed government will fall and those we leave behind will suffer the fate of our Vietnamese and Cambodian friends in 1975. As U.S. combat brigades move out, contractors, aid workers and diplomats left behind will be more vulnerable to assassination and kidnapping. There could be a stampede for the exit and a Saigon ending in the Green Zone. "

Talk about OUT OF CONTEXT!

PJB was commenting on what would happen if we "redeployed" or if we left right now. He wasn't saying that this is the inevitable ending, he was saying this would be the result if we just surrendered right now.

Either read it over again until you understand it or surrender your argument. I'm sure the latter will be easy for you since it seems it's your nature.

Patrick Buchanan was against this insane war from the beginning. He recognizes that there will be consequences for leaving but obviously thinks the war is lost.

I would agree with his final comment:

"What we are about to witness is how empires end."

PJB has been against this war from the beginning, this is true. In fact Donkey was against this war from the beginning too, but once we were in they backed the mission.

This isn't Bush's war, it's America's war. Either you want your country to win, or you want them to lose. It's that simple.

Even if you're a pessimist and you're anti war; if you're honest you know that we can finish the job now or we can let thousands of people be slaughtered, let the region deteriorate further and be back in ten years to clean up the mess with higher stakes. (iranian nukes)

Why isnt there an anti-war movement in Iraq?

gary said...

Rhino, thousand of people are being slaughtered now. I am tired of the "we can't lose unless we leave" bullshit. You can't win a war with slogans.

With all respect for General Petraeus, Iraq will be a burying ground for the neocons dreams of empire.

That may be true but it sure looks like your side is hell bent on losing one with them.

the anti-war iraqi's fled long, long ago. the iraqi ex-pats have long been quite vocal against the war.

Ok valid point, and I would have had no problem profiling long haired tie dye wearing hippie chicks....

if it was the 70's

....but since its been Moslem men of a certain age that have been attacking us for the past 30+ years I think they now prove to be the bigger threat and should be treated accordingly but the authorities.
