We The People

I have been a keen observer of Washington politics for at least 20 years now and i have voted in every national, and most local elections since i turned 18. I have always been cynical when it comes to politicians and i truly believe that once they get past the local level they're not really looking out for anyone but themselves anymore. (there are exceptions but very few).

With everything I've seen, and read, and heard since the beginning i can't ever remember a time that i thought the powers that be in Washington were more out of touch with the people who put them there.

This is not a partisan post, I'm talking both sides of the aisle. Now we hear that they want to bring back the
"fairness doctrine"! Are you kidding me? They don't like what you have to say so they want to shut you up. Is that democracy?

It's no wonder the confidence level for congress is at
all time lows.

Not only do we need a legitimate third party, but we seriously need term limits!

"Nothing so strongly impels a man to regard the interest of his constituents, as the certainty of returning to the general mass of the people, from whence he was taken, where he must participate in their burdens."
-- George Mason (speech in the Virginia Ratifying Convention,17 June 1788)

We do not need a third party. We need two new parties.

Make that three new parties.

we need more like five parties.

what a horrible thought...for the government to have even more control of the media. it'd be like watching 100 versions of FOX news.

to hell in a hand-basked, i tell you.

Boo fucking hoo. FOX leans right, so what. Damn near every other media outlet besides talk radio leans left. Frickin liberal crybabies.

Please make a valid argument in support of the Fairness Doctrine and expose your true fascist tendencies.

Seriously, can any of our liberal readers make one valid argument for this proposal? .... and more importantly arent you scared as shit that your dem leaders are advancing it?

Are there any queers in the theater tonight?
Get them up against the wall!
There's one in the spotlight, he don't look right to me,
Get him up against the wall!
That one looks Jewish!
And that one's a coon!
Who let all of this riff-raff into the room?
There's one smoking a joint,
And another with spots!
If I had my way,
I'd have all of you shot!

So in response to my challenge to make an argument for the Fairness Doctrine you try to censor my right to free speech, drunken or otherwise?

Perhaps Michael Keaton's finest film amongst many in a Hall of Fame career.

If you want a liberal defense of the Fairness Doctrine you'll have to find another liberal as I'm opposed to bring it back.
