Like we needed another reason to love Jessica Alba!
When considering legalizing 12 million illegal immigrants, Congress should consider seriously the fact that the walking, talking American dream is now politically incorrect. That doesn’t bode well for its survival.

i don't get the link ...
sorry, try again i think i fixed it.
very interesting article. pacino's experience is like my own, or my family's on my father's side. my grandparents came here from yugoslavia (croatia) and pretty much only spoke their native language "behind closed doors."
it's interesting how it was ok for the european immigrants to cut off their roots (and i'm not saying the cutting off of ancentral roots is a good thing, by the way) yet now it's a heinous crime, a betrayal if you will, for a hispanic family to do so.
alba seems very smart. i liked her comment about cameron diaz as well --- a very interesting observation.
I drive people crazy on this all the time. They ask me what's my nationality and i say American then they say "yeah but what ARE you?" and i say American! They insist i need to be some other nationality but they're wrong, i'm American no matter where my grandparents were born.
sounds like comments by the same misguided fools who parade around with foreign flags at immigration rallies--if you're immigrating *to* our country, shouldn't you be celebrating *our* flag?
the problem is that the voice of immigrant communities has been hijacked by the "social justice" movement--far leftists who may represent the views of some, but certainly not all, immigrants, and confuse legitimate gripes about discrimination with intellectually dishonest claims related to human rights and cultural imperialism.
the reality is that all immigrant groups have had their ethnicist rabble-rousers--they're a small minority of the overall immigrant population, and their voices will diminish over time, as did the italian-american anarchists and the jewish-american socialists.
until then, best of luck to jessica alba and anyone else who, sadly, is punished for simply being an american.
