It is true that the Senate Intelligence Commmittee is bipartisan. All the committees are. However, the Democratic minority on the committee did not sign onto the allegation that Wilson lied. They dissented. So this was just part of the Republican smear campaign against Joseph Wilson, a distinguished public servant who stood up to Saddam Hussein and was praised by Bush Sr.
Joseph Wilson was not afraid of Saddam Hussein, who he confronted personally, and he sure as hell was not afraid of Dick Cheney and Karl Rove.
