As promised I will no longer be making any official Aurora statements regarding the global warming fear mongering ruse, however I am reprinting the following comment that was in response to accusations of skepticism, denial and moronic delusions during a mass email debate.
Apparently the accuser is working with Algore on his new book so therefore she self-righteously feels that she has the moral authority as well as the infallible scientific community's consensus on her side and the only argument to be made was calling everyone an idiot and name dropping Algore repeatedly.

It should be noted that by no means would I consider the author of the following comment a modern day Woodstock reliving hippie liberal but there also can be no doubt that he does reside on the left side of the aisle and as much as he will deny it to this day he was -- perhaps during a momentary lapse of reason -- a one-time (current?) Hillary booster.
Of more significance he has the honor of being one of the very few democrats that I know whose opinion I respect although he does in fact have his head stuck up his ass on most issues.....
This is not one of them.

"if you must know, i don't think global warming is nonsense. i think that self absorbed politicians that manipulate statistics and apply half-baked pseudo-scientific theories in order to further their own careers are promoting nonsense. the global warming geological trend the planet has been experiencing for 15,000 years may be exacerbated to a point of irreparable harm by CO2 emissions, other greenhouse gases, and even just basic human existence (somewhere in the middle of the next century, according to some). or maybe not. This general trend can only be measured in tens of thousands of years, and is far more complex than the phony environmentalism of the gores of the world would have you believe. year to year or even century to century changes are far too randomized to serve as a useful sample from which to draw meaningful conclusions, and regularly occurring, although rare, phenomena (massive extraterrestrial impact, super volcanic eruptions) are major wildcards in the overall analysis. the problem of course, is that if the "global warming" of al gore and the liberal mind meld is even remotely accurate, by the time that can be conclusively established it will be too late and most of the world's population will be dead. nevertheless, i refuse to let these intellectual totalitarians lecture me with their pseudo-science and i will not accept their paternalistic assumptions that i'm not smart enough to understand the truth, or allow them to dismiss me as stupid because i refuse to blindly accept their self serving agenda as undisputed fact. f them and the suv they rode in on, because you know their superiority allows them to be exempt from their own plans to curtail the freedom of the ignorant masses. assholes.

Well said! I couldnt have said it better myself, well yeah I could...but I didnt.
......and I dont think that Algore actually invented the enviroment, he just takes credit for being part of the think tank that enabled the enviroment to exist.

I will continue to give greater weight to the opinions of Harvard climatologists, The National Academy of Science, President Bush's science advisor, etc., than to the opinion of raving bloggers.
Well that certainly doesnt surprise me as it is sheep such as yourself whom have tried to stifle dissenting views all throughout mankinds history.
I wonder which of the great minds you wouldve considered raving bloggers of their day.
But once again you are arguing about something that nobody else is. The issue isnt whether or not the earth is warmer today then it was yesterday its to what degree is man responsible, can and should it be fixed and whether or not the solutions proposed by the gores and the greens are viable (which they are not)

...not to mention as Rhino has continously pointed out, the very same National Academy of Science were in fact warning ofglobal cooling in 70's...so Im throwing the bullshit flag on them too.
If being on Exxon's payroll discredits a source in your eyes, then being as blatantly wrong as the NAS were only a few decades past discredits them in mine.

The scientific community is not just saying the earth is getting warmer; they are saying that it's caused by man.
No one is trying to stifle the dissenters. They have certainly had their say, and all out of proportion to their numbers.
Look, I've said it before, the skeptical minority could conceivably be right, unlikely though that appears to me. How can you be so damned sure the majority is wrong?
