So let's see--they shot 14 times at a suspect who was running away and then tampered with evidence. Sorry, not much sympathy here.

obviously the border patrol officers didn't handle themselves correctly, and some punishment is warranted, but 11 or 12 years? are you serious?

the bigger point here, however, is that we continue to handle Mexico with kid gloves, giving them privileges they don't extend to us.

you can bet if the situation were reversed and the drugs were flowing the opposite direction, the US citizen would be rotting away in mexican jail or he'd be dead.

instead, we grant the mexican drug dealer immunity. wtf?

meanwhile, we're likely extraditing a true american hero--duane "dog" chapman--to face prosecution in mexico for illegally apprehending a rape suspect (US citizen) in mexico, even though chapman was working with american and mexican authorities during the course of the pursuit.

so, yeah, free the dog.

I was assuming that based on an 11 year sentence they would be out in a couple of years. Given that the guy was shot in the ass that would seem appropriate.

That true about the Dog?

Yeah Dog is in a a lotta trouble...

And you say "drug runner" like it was a bad thing? Or did you mean to emphasize "Mexican" as a bad thing? Either way, I've been thinking of having someone shoot me in the ass for a little street cred. In the meantime, someone should give the boarder patrol a little more latitude to do there job. What's the sense in having them try to stop anything if they have to worry about going to jail for it.
