Next Episode of 24?

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - A federal appeals court on Tuesday vacated the sentence of "millennium bomber" Ahmed Ressam, who was arrested near the U.S.-Canadian border and convicted of plotting to bomb Los Angeles international airport at the turn of the millennium.

No, sadly it's just the 9th circuit again. I'm not even surprised.

Ressam was arrested in December 1999 In Port Angeles, Wash., when he drove off a ferry from British Columbia with a trunk full of explosives. Prosecutors said he was intent on bombing the airport on the eve of the millennium.
He was sentenced to
22 years in prison after being convicted of all nine charges. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco reversed his conviction on one of the charges and sent the case back to a lower court judge to issue a new sentence and explain the rationale behind the original 22-year term.
The decision does not necessarily mean the defendant will get a shorter term, as federal prosecutors said the original sentence was too light and judges are given wide latitude to sentence defendants as they see fit.

Can they give him the death sentence now? Wouldn't that be a (much warranted) kick in the teeth for this scumbag...

Maybe it'd be a good idea to send Jack up to San Fran to have a talk with those judges.

Now Rhino I told you I was tired today so forgive me, but..I have to get caught up as I dont see why that sentence is excessive?

OK Rhino I see that the Prosecutors originally argued that the sentence was too lenient.

Should be life. What the hell is going on anyway?

Hi, Branford, did you get my reply to your "long time no see" note on Blue Republic? I addressed it to "ElizabethBranford" instead of "elizabethbranford" so I don't know....

24 gets the most unbelievable amount of support and time on Providence heavy metal WHJY and New England sports radio WEEI.

Indeed I did, and its nice to see you back.

I'll talk to you over there. Dont want to misuse the Auroran resources. Recently I did however get a nasty email about my "joining the Aurora". But I dont post here? Wonder what the hell that was about.

Perhaps they meant...emotionally? It was hilarious. I will say they need a female here though.

The Anita situation seemed kind of Sammy Hagarish.

Once again proving my point that liberals practice a politics of intolorance.

Stop making a martyr of yourself. Unless you are going to name names so we can publicly shame the guilty parties...we dont want to hear about it.

Well some people got pissy with Anita when she posted here too, but she doesnt strike me as the type to care. I dont post here and never have so I dont know the story there.

Anyway, I just wanted to clarify for McTrixie since he said he would leave me a message here.
