December 7 1941

"Yesterday, Dec. 7, 1941 - a date which will live in infamy - the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan. " FDR

Churchill once wrote
"the stroke of catastrophe and the spur of peril were needed to call forth the dormant might of the British nation."

We've had our "stroke of catastrophe" (9/11) what will it take to call forth the dormant might of the American nation? Do we really need another attack to alert the nation to the fact that we're at war, and we can't afford to lose? If we don't win this thing, if we cut and run from Iraq, i believe we'll be inviting another attack.

I agree we are at war. Here's a thought: let's fight the enemy, Al Qaeda. You know, the people who attacked us. Bush blew it in Afghanistan big time and now we might lose that war too.

Once again, winning and losing is all relative. I'm sure all the terrorists are happy to see reports that the war has been some type of collosal failure...but don't we still have homes, jobs, liberty, and all of the other great attributes that our country provides.

When we do leave the terrorists will have no jobs, no freedom, no government and the same nothing that their countries have always afforded them. They'll just have the same smoking burned out buildings they have always had (much of their own making).

So winning and losing is all relative...isn't it?

PS - I haven't been here in a while so I can play stupid and forget that their is a comment policy...In the past you won a fucking war by leaving your victim to sift through rubble and the chaos left in the wake of said war. That used to be the measure of being victorious. So "yeah" for the terorrists, they won their war?

Also, what's up guys...you need some HTML help over here? I can't figure out where the sidebar starts and where the page begins. Clean it up as my OCD barely let me stay here long enough to read Rhino's post...

Hmm you must be using Explorer? Looks good to me. Firefox reads code better.

Blogger is not compatible with all browsers all the time.

Fly, Yes, winning is relative, but as OG Mandino tells us, losing or failure is always the same, and that is mans inability to reach his goals.
We have the ability to reach our goals, we can't be defeated militarily. Do we have the will? That is the only question. As i said before, i don't think we can afford to lose this one.

Well, as our Fearless Leader said, the only way we will lose is if we leave. Therefore we should stay there forever. When you're in a hole, keep digging!
