That's the comment that Warlike left. He's right of course, the people decided they wanted something different, but is that what we got? I think so, but i think it was a mistake. I could be wrong of course. (There's a first time for everything)
I heard someone the other day saying that he thinks too many people vote. He didn't think that enough people these days even understand the issues before us, and he wished they would stay away from the political process if they weren't willing to educate themselves. Interesting.

The problem of American democracy is (of course) democracy. We are on the cusp of an election that commentators have already imbued with vast significance if Democrats recapture part or all of Congress — or if they don't. But here's something that no one's saying: Regardless of who wins, it won't make much difference for many pressing problems.

You are of course as an Auroran, correct. The people have indeed spoken and they were in fact wrong. Some have said that this was a win for conservatism, which I agree with to a degree as a good portion of the dem candidates that won are in fact moderate to conservative democrats on key issues. However what people failed to see is that although they voted for center dems it will be the far left Pelosis and Reids calling the shots and putting forth an agenda that most people did not vote for.
If this was a referendum on Iraq, so be it..Rumsfeld is scapegoated and gone. Thats it. Nothing much else will change. The dems will still fail to put forth a viable alternative for Iraq and we will still be there when Bush leaves office.
What will change are things like amnesty for illegals and a rollback of tax cuts. I dont recall many dems running on those issues but thats what were gonna get.

The people have a way of deciding for themselves if they are right or wrong. Bush is at 35% in the polls and is a lame duck. The Democrats have the House and probably the Senate.
If you have a viable alternative for Iraq, let's hear it.
Once again Gary I must ask you...what are you twelve? I say the dems dont have a plan for Iraq and you hit me with the old schoolyard "im rubber your glue" rebuttal. I have stated my plan and debated with Rhino over it ad nauseum.
