I just posed this question in the comment section to Lily, but considering that for some unknown reason (well besides that chicks dig us) most of our readers are slanted left (well the vocal ones at least) I would like to hear what everyone thinks. We can get into the all the details later as Im not concerned at this point with anything regarding Iraq or the reasons behind why Johnny Jihad doesnt love us. But I think its very important for this discussion to know where everyone stands on one simple point
Is a holy war or a jihad being waged against The United States of America? YES or NO?

I would say the al Qaeda is waging what they consider to be a Holy War against us. It is a mistake though to lump together Hizbullah, Hamas, secular Muslim states, Sunni and Shiite, etc. all together under the propaganda terms Islamofascist and Clash of Civilizations, as some do.
Is that yes or no?
Yes.
To answer my own question...
YES
Yes.
I'm with Zontar.
Ah, Anita, you wish you were with Zontar.
I do?
Well Donsky, youd be suprised how some on the left choose to avoid and ignore this very simple fact and rather argue the semantics. Iraq has blinded them, since they were able to score political points, they understand nothing else. The war was being waged before Iraq and will continue after as well, they dont understand.
For example someone on the left that I asked this very same question responded this way.
"A War? NO.
Why? Because a war is recognized as between nations or recognized entities- and terrorists by their very definition are individuals who act without respect to formal nation or geographic affiliation and who are not recognized for diplomatic purposes because there is no enforcement body capable of assuring their adherence. You cant be at war with AIDS either although we can all admit it is terrible. You also cannot be at war with drugs or Christmas."
Now that was a very well written out answer, and Im sure the author was very proud of their cleverness, I get it...suicide bombers, just say no, and wal-mart having holidays sales, same thing....ITS FUCKIN RETARDED
...but it conveys exactly how some on the left think and I am no longer willing to engage those types of people in debate as it is clear that they are
a) Too smart for their own good
b) Out of their fucking minds
I wanted to establish where everyone stood for there is no reason to debate someone that doesnt know what we are debating to begin with. That being said we may no carry on regarding how to best fight back.
We do all agree that we should fight back, right?
I would say the Pope is out to get us all...especially donkeys who have sex with women - the Pope is not down with that and he'll stop at nothing, until the Crusades are back on. I'm stocking up on condoms, before they become illegal.
Regarding this jihad you speak of...as though it is something newsworthy (or new for that matter), just as we impose our ideals on other cultures, other cultures will despise us - for our lack of respect and general disregard for their beliefs.
Jihad was declared when we declared war on their belief system and way of living.
I'm more afraid of the Pope (and his friends).
One,
i would appreciate some examples of us declaring war on someones belief system and way of living.
One
Cant you libs stay on topic? I dont recall asking about the Pope, but as a self ex-communicated Catholic, I would be more than willing to discuss that at a later time.
It was a simple yes or no question.
So what is it?
A simple yes or no question--yes, we are at war with Al Qaeda. They attacked us. Unfortunately, the Bush administration, and much of the Right has lost sight of that, and, as I have argued, are trying to incite a war with the whole fricking Muslim world.
After 9/11 we should have demolished Al Qaeda and the Taliban who harbored them. Unfortunately, Bush had other plans: Iraq.
how far do you want me to go?
let me know when to stop:
- Indian Removal Act of 1830
- Executive Order 9066
- US Public Law 103-150 (103d Congress Joint Resolution 19)
- Senate Joint Resolution no. 101
- Governor Lilburn Boggs' 1838 Mormon Extermination Order
- Operation Iraqi 'Freedom'
- US Islamophobia (your disease)
- Abu Ghraib prisoner abuse
i could go on
donkey,
i don't stay on topic, because i'm bored of the same topics...on, and on, and on...
yes, America is at war with non-christians
ps...and we fired the first shot
One,
The indian removal act was against muslims?
The internment of the Japs during WWII was against muslims?
Which Hawaiian tribe has declared Jihad against us?
Lets review. We weren't attacked by Mormons, and we didn't attack them.
We never declared war on their belief system or their way of life. In fact, it's the exact opposite. I don't have islamophobia, i'm just not afraid of calling out my enemy. The animals who are want to kill us happen to be islamic. If they were catholic, or jewish i wouldn't be afraid to call them out either.
Also, lets review. Our action in Iraq came AFTER 9/11, and AFTER the first trade center bombing, and AFTER the USS Cole, and AFTER the embassy bombings, and AFTER the marine barracks in lebanon in 1983. And I COULD GO ON.
So lets get back to the point.
We have been in a war with Islamic fascists, or Muslim terrorists, or Islamo nazi's (my favorite) for over 30 years. We finally started fighting back after 9/11.
What part of that did we start? Was it when we conquered the Indians? Or when we kicked out the mexicans? I mean if you really want to go way back, maybe you can figure out how to blame the crusades on America too!
One, when you're beat stay down. don't try to change the subject to mormons and indians.
ps, we are not at war with non-christians, the people we are fighting are muslim.
It's ok, they know they're muslim, they're proud of it. you can say it out loud.
rhino,
you said, 'i would appreciate some examples of us declaring war on someones belief system and way of living.'
i believe i was answering your question (as it was posted) quite directly, and not limited to muslims, but only defined as such, when you were proven ill-informed.
typical male 'flip the pancake' strategy.
"Our action in Iraq came AFTER 9/11, and AFTER the first trade center bombing, and AFTER the USS Cole, and AFTER the embassy bombings, and AFTER the marine barracks in lebanon in 1983."
None of which Iraq was involved in. While ignoring my initial point you are doing just what I said. Taking a war against Al Qaeda, and attempting to turn it into a war with the Muslim world.
Islamofascist and Islamnoazi are terms of propaganda. That is, they shed more heat than light on the subject.
Al Qaeda was a fringe group that couldn't make it in their own countries, where they lost in elections, were jailed, etc. We could have won a war against them--still could, I believe, in spite of the historic, castastrophic blunders of the current administration.
One, you are correct. that is how the question was stated, but since the conversation was about this current war that we are engaged in, i thought you would know what i meant.
In fact i'm sure that you did know but since you had no answer you used semantics.
It's ok, i didn't expect anything from you anyway. Not because you're not smart enough, but becaue there is nothing you can say. We didn't start this war and in fact we didn't even fight back until W went into afghanistan.
The bottom line is that we all agree we're fighting a war against islamonazi's.
"The bottom line is that we all agree we're fighting a war against islamonazi's."
Do you even read my comments?
oh rhino,
you are a breath of fresh smug
One, thank you....... smug means handsome right?
