Can someone please tell me why John McCain is considered a frontrunner for the GOP Presidential nomination again? I mean besides the fact that hes John McCain?
Is this what our political process has come to, a celebrified popularity contest based on name recognition. In the simplest of terms, the guy is a tool, and no offense to my fellow Auroran but hes a rino, as is Rudy (if youre liberal on social issues but "tough on crime"...youre a liberal) who I loved as Mayor but couldnt possibly conceive voting for him for President. Ok unlike a landwar with China, maybe its conceivable but Im not too sure how'd I feel about Rudy having his finger on the button...I can see it now, youre backed up in traffic and some domicillically challenged entrepreneur is giving your windshield a spitshine and BAM, a tactical nuke strike takes out the block.
I guess I can always vote Buchanan with an absentee ballot from my Palm Springs address again.
* In no way shape or form am I calling Rudy "smoke em if ya got em" Giuliani a liberal, but rather was making a social commentary on the pusillanimous nature of the Republican Party unwilling to take tough conservative stances or endorse strong conservative candidates. The New York Republicans are a joke. It was a waste of my time to go to the polls today. If we cant beat Clinton (ok we cant beat her) Spitzer or Cuomo then we should be taken out back and shot.

Santorum for President? That might not be a bad idea. We could use another JFK in the White House.
1. Have you ever heard the term "Rockefeller Republican" ?? New York (and Northeast in general ... see Lincoln Chaffee) Republicans have historically been far more liberal (and sane, Giuliani excepted) than national Republicans.
2. I don't believe "domicillically" is a word.

UM, Anita I don't really follow fashion (not even during fashion week, except Betsey Johnson)but I guess what happens especially with bloggers is that expressions perhaps catch on then wear out? Sorry to be sheepescent in the presence of the Aurorans.
For a while everyone was a "fuckwit". Then think tanks were called "wingnut welfare" and everyone felt clever writing that.

it has nothing to do with being Catholic. Half my relatives are Christian, Catholic or Episcopalian. Most of my family is pro-life, pro- women in the home, pro-gun, pro-Reagan, anti-welfare, and of course into baby seals and kitten punching.
There are many other issues with Santorum, first being his environmental positions. I COULD go on all day but you would just call me a commie or tell me to go get you beer...
