Auroran Idol

The great librarian trooper door Donsky has agreed to write a theme song for the Aurora. Hes asked us our opinions, and I gave them to him. Only problem is I aint even a real Indian man, although I am a Auroran, I am not The Aurora. I take back all Ive suggested (keep the Jerry Reed). Unless the song is in the bag, I invite all suggestions from our three (including McTrixie...27)readers. If Donsky agrees, I abide to let the people speak. Your vote counts. Winning idea (and there are no losers in Auroraville)...Donsky writes..I rock on the front page. Simple as that.

Employees of ABC, ESPN, Fox, CMax or the like including not excluding Rhino with his hipibty hopibry suggestions are not eligible being ineligible nor his family or friends people in his garage nor their friends or family including not excluding Warlike or Fly that will either suggest imply or implore rap, bad reggae, english folk, waltzes, east coast, west coast, north coast, south coast or generally crap or crappy affiliated music is forbidden under rule number

Well since "Eat Your Jesus" is defunct (or Im crazy) maybe he could modify it? Eat Your Pedro Martinez!

I see you are changing your template. You need a banner. You know I have your motorcycle picture in my gynogallery we could modify..

how about a little leonard cohen / judy collins / nick drake / jeff buckley. this blog has so many SHARP EDGES ... you might considering rounding them out a bit, softening things up, putting a human face on your right wing, coulterific rantifications, non?

then again, there's always the eddie rabbit kinda thing. we all know how the donkey likes his tulla on a rainy night (or a non-rainy night, or any night as a matter of fact, or first thing in the morning ...).

i'm not feelin that motorcycle pic. I was at a wedding in nashville a couple of weeks ago and i was wearing a cowboy hat. i'm thinking i should post those pics and we could use them. we can leave donkey out because i'm pretty enough for both of us.

yeah, what the hell happened to 'eat your jesus' ... i loved that. now it's gone. just another reason for me to be depressed. that, and the rhinoculous hates me.

I hate anita? I don't hate anyone! I'm not very fond of barbara streisand, or sean penn, but i don't even hate them!

You're a sensitive one aren't you turkish?

anita, i don't know why you think these things. If i've been too hard on you i apologize. You hippies are so sensitive. from now on i'll stick to beating up on lily, she's used to it since i hear that the donkey kicks her ass every day at the blue republic.

EB,

Is that the picture where I look handsome? Wait what am I saying...I look handsome in every picture.

...what is this banner that you speak of? how do I make one? how do I install it? will any picture work?

Stop being sensitive Anita, its nothing personal....Rhino doesnt like girls. How many straight men do you know from Long Island that wear cowboy hats?

I think it should be some sort of Native American theme...something akin to John Denver's Wooden Indian:

I was an Auroran
I was proud I was strong
You were a Libertarian and you stole away my home

Now I am the lone American
Standing silent in the rain
Swear by my grandfather's father
We're gonna rise again

Anyway...add verses as you see fit but I think just an acoustic guitar and a bongo would be perfect...

If all else fails just go with Hulk Hogan's "I am a real American"

The thing of it is, Donsky, technically, is that Snuff on Fat Wreck, one of Fat Mike's bands, that attempts to communicate the aurora experience throgh the medium of punk rock in their song "Nick Northern". After thinking for a moment about the contest I remembered it...Fat Wreck Chords presents "Survival of the Fattest", a disk I bought for $4.99 in Times Square 10 years ago.

Carson Daly's band "No Use For A Name" is also a Fat Mike Fat Wreck Chords band. They all seem to sound like NOFX' guitarist El Hefe is playing lead.

Can't think of any precedents beside this one in the world of punk. I suppose one could delve into the Moscow scene, or the Siberia scene, which is something I should have done long ago.

yeah! what's going on in the Siberia scene. I wanna know.

Seriously.
