The Shake Heard Round The World

One thing you need to understand about me is that I despise lines. Absolutely frickin hate them. If I cant circumvent them or finagle my way to the front, then Id rather just avoid them altogether and walk away. Wouldnt matter if they were giving away free bottles of Tulla, ok for that maybe I wait. Point is I dont like lines.

That being said, this was the second time in my life that I intentionally went out of my way and purposely put myself in a position where Id be waiting in a line to get a book signed. What was the first book you ask, ok maybe you didnt ask but Im telling you anyway. It was called "
Cinderella Story" by Bill Murray. A funny (what ya expect its Bill Murray) little anecdotal book about golf and brotherhood.

The second is "State of Emergency" by (some would say my mancrush) Patrick J Buchanan. Considering that I first became a fan when I was fifteen years old and he was instrumental in my early interest in politics, I will not dignify those twisted perverted individuals with a response.

Its about the massive wave of illegal immigration from south of the border (no not the rest stop at the Carolina border) the harm its causing and what needs to be done to stop it. This isnt a Republican or a Democrat issue. Its an American issue, and our very cultural sovereignty is at risk.

What can I say, my boy Buchanan is wicked smart. Ive yet to start this book as I plan to read it during the short vacation I have planned this weekend, but if the previous books Ive read of his are any indication I fully expect this one to be researched thoroughly, articulate, well thought out and dead balls right.

Like I said Ive followed his career for twenty some odd years and have supported him in each of his Presidential runs but as Ed Koch once said...

"If you agree with me on nine out of twelve issues, then vote for me. If you agree with me on twelve out of twelve issues, then see a shrink."

Well I dont agree with everything Buchanan says or stands for, but I proudly consider myself a Buchananite. Ive voted for him before and Id vote for him again. Whadda ya say Pat...fourth time a charm?

*the story about the clash of The Donkey vs the Hippie Bookburners to follow.

I am so willing to trade one immigrant group for another. The ones that were brought here against their will and are still so pissed about it that they don't want to do an ounce of honest labor, for the ones that want to come here and work. But then again, I am from Oakland, so it's no wonder I espouse such sentiments. Hey, let me just mention how cool this blog is and how glad I am to have stumbled upon it.

miss carnivorous, call me a liberal, a hippie or whatever, but i personally find your statement about the "ones who were brought here against their will" pretty offensive. no, not "pretty offensive" ... let's say extraordinarily offensive. but i'll leave it at that because i don't want to go on a rant because i find that people who make such statements aren't worth arguing with anyway.

...

on a different note, regarding the pb&j pics, which person is donkeyhue? rhino said he had shorts and a t-shirt on, but then there's the comment about the 'handshake' ... as usual, and not surprisingly, i'm confused.

and speaking of bill murray, i watched 'what about bob' this weekend ... it's the perfect movie for those of us who are so cruelly and carelessly abandoned by our shrinks in august.

;)

anita, you see a shrink? what would tom cruise say about that?

miss c, very racist, and even more importantly very ignorant. Welcome aboard.

"anita, you see a shrink?"

doesn't everyone? or, rather, doesn't everyone in new york?

Rhino-itall said...

Nope no shrink for me! I'm crazy, but i don't care why, and i'm not looking to fix it. Basically, i love me, and so does everyone else. Really it's true, just ask me......

You want to know why things are like that Miss C?
It's because when the people there were trying to help themselves the FBI's Counterintelligence Program launched something called "COINTELPRO".
