That's a headline this morning that i saw on Drudge.
What?! You see this is the problem with these islamonazi's. They don't look at this as a cease fire, they look at it like a victory. They don't understand mercy, they are evil people.
Here's the problem as i see it. We have been at war with these animals for over 25 years, but we didn't start fighting back until after 9/11. This is an enemy that doesn't negotiate, and doesn't desire peace. They can't be reasoned with and they can't be placated. We need to destroy them, not for the sake of Israel, but for our own sake.
How do we do this? Well i'm not an expert, but it seems to me that we're on the right track in Iraq. I know a lot of people don't agree with me, but we can't kill all the cockroaches, we need to destroy their homes, their funding, their safe zones. Iran should be next, and then probably Syria.
Israel's reality is that they live every day with the threat of terrorism. If we don't stay on the offensive that will eventually be our reality too.

These maniacs actually had a fireworks display to celebrate. Im no international treaty attorney (but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night), but wouldnt that be construed as a violation of the ceasefire?
donsky, i understand what you're saying, but it doesn't make any sense to me. Israel will NEVER get world opinion on their side, shit they can't even get the ny times!
U.N. soldiers get killed? So what, it will be blamed on Israel either way.
I think they made a huge mistake, i think the U.S. made a huge mistake not pushing for a full scale invasion. I think hezbollah is re arming with iranian rockets right now. i think mike wallace is a dickhead, and olmert is Israels jimmy carter. i think he means well but peace will never come through appeasement or weakness.
As for Iraq, i just meant spreading democracy is the way to go. My feeling is that Iraq is the first domino, a stepping stone so to speak.
It must be easy being a right---you always know what to think. Let me see if I have it:we are in World War 3 against the Islamo-Fascists and we need to go to the source and overthrow the governments of Iran and Syria? Mencken once said that every complex problem has a simple solution--and it is wrong. Iraq isn't exactly working out is it? Israel's adventure in Lebanon hasn't worked out according to plan. (The Israelis and the Bush people actually thought the people of Lebanon would turn against Hizbullah --this shows their level of disconnect from reality. Likewise Cheney and crew actually think if we attack Iran the people there will rise up and overthrow their government.) Attacking Iran won't work either and the consequences would probably be catastrophic. Read Seymour Hersh's latest--Syria wants to talk to us and to cooperate against the terrorists--they don't like the Muslim Brotherhood and the jihadists at all.
There is no monolithic Islamonazi conspiracy. You have Shiites and Sunnis, conservative and radical Muslim states. All of Israel's enemies need not be ours. Hamas hasn't done anything to us.
The Bushites and neocons want Perpetual War. It is all about fear and power and power and empire--and our constitutional republic is in danger of coming to an end. I believe, however, that the forces of democracy and liberty will prevail.
gary, what is your solution then? are you saying we should abandon Israel? we should negotiate with syria and iran?
this is why i have trouble taking you seriously. cognitive dissonance!
how many times do you have to burn your hand on the stove to realize that its hot?
syria, iran, n.korea, iraq (saddams iraq) etc. what do these have in common??? oh yeah that's right they're all full of shit, they're all evil empires, they all want our destruction!
you need to start reading something other than hersh because he's so wrong EVERY time it's ridiculous. you believe that democracy and liberty will prevail? how? just by happenstance?
freedom isn't free, it's guaranteed to no man. It's something that has to be earned, and sometimes fought for.
No, we should not abandon Israel. We should support Israel but also be an honest broker in the peace process. Yes, we should talk to Iran and Syria. NO, we should not attack Iran or Syria. Yes, we need regime change in America.
Gary, I almost forgot, Iraq IS working out! just because the pussies in the msm and france don't think so doesn't mean shit. iraq is a democratic society, fragile for sure, but if we don't lose our will to stay the course, we will have another staunch ally in the region for decades, just like we had in iran before jimmy carter screwed that up!
"Stay the course."TM
If you think Iraq is working out or will work out you are living in a dream world--just like Bush and Cheney.
If you think attacking Iran will work out you are insane--just like Bush and Cheney.
Iraq isn't exactly working out is it?
Revolutionary War: Gen Washington immediately lost Manhattan and spent next few years retreating.
Result: Victory
War of 1812: The Brits burned down Washington DC while the Candadians were burning Buffalo and Detroit to the ground
Result: Victory
Mexican American War: Californios rout US troops during the Battle of Dominguez Rancho and the Battle of San Pascual.
Result:Victory
The War of Northern Aggression: Brother fighting brother
Result:The South shall rise again bitches
The Spanish-American War Remember the Maine
Result Victory
I think you catch my drift.
Gary, by chance are you French?
Thanks for the history lesson. I believe that many feel that the War of 1812 was a draw at best. You left Vietnam and Korea off the list.
Iraq: Lost
If you disagree, define victory in Iraq and tell me how do we win? And "stay the course" won't do it.
Not french. The French were our allies in WW2, and they were right about Iraq. They have had experience fighting insurgencies in Algeria and Vietnam. They lost.
Funny how you mention only two of the many that I left off, could it be that those wars were fought against communist countries you pinko bastard.
My point was that no war has "working out" at the time. War sucks, people die.
Iraq: Winning, but the left doing their damnedest to lose it for us
The French were right about Iraq? How so? That they could make billions off Saddam by obstructing the UN weapons inspectors while being in cahoots with the UN at the same time in the largest global scandal of all time?
The French were right about it not being a good idea.
By what standard are we winning in Iraq? I have asked you several times to define victory in Iraq.
gary, first things first. let me address korea and vietnam.
korea was basically the U.S. versus the ussr, and china. we were ill prepared to fight that war because after WWII we started to disarm and dial down our armed forces. we still could have pushed forward and won that thing completely but obviously we didn't have the political will to win at the time and settled on a divided country. would you agree that this was a big mistake?
vietnam- we didn't lose that war militarily, we lost the political will to win, we were crushing our enemy, and only the traitors here at home like john kerry and jane fonda kept them going. eventually of course the pussies won, and we quit.
now that we're done with the history lesson, lets tackle Iraq.
we are winning in Iraq. by what standard? you pick one, and we're winning!
1. we have killed and are killing more of the enemy than they are killing us
2. we have had multiple free elections in the country
3. we are rebuilding the infrastructure in the country
4. we have trained and employed thousands of loyal Iraqi soldiers and police
5. most of the country is 100% secure and safe
6. the economy is back on track and commerce is increasing measurably.
if you recall, i did a whole post on the improvements in Iraq months ago. the stats were very promising and came from a LIBERAL think tank.
now is everything perfect? no. will we be done in a week or two? no. but let me ask you this gary, how long were we in Japan? how long did it take to rebuild europe?
stay the course is exactly the strategy that works, and i haven't heard anyone come up with ANY other idea except surrender. which as we know from vietnam and korea is a huge mistake.
No I don't think we should have continued in Korea after China entered the war. That would have been stupid.
As for your 6 points on Iraq:
1. Maybe but we are creating more insurgents than we are killing. Remember the "body counts" in Vietnam?
2.Yes, but now the country is moving toward civil war.
3. No we're not.
4. Loyal to who?
5. REALLY????
6. REALLYY????
Iraq is already lost. You just don't know it yet. Eventually you will recognize this fact but then you will blame the liberals rather than the people who got us into this mess. Mark my words.
I think you are wrong Rhino.
The goal of war should be:
*The acceptance and support of world opinion esp. the french and the un
*The backing of the main stream media
*The appeasement of our enemies
*the abandonment of our strategic alliances
*the immediate court maritial of any soldier who has ever killed an enemy
*the dismantling of the United States of America's war machine
*full recognition of any and all terrorist organizations as sovereign states entitling them to an ez-pass system through airport security and personal keys to all airplane cockpits for all of its members.
*the opening of all borders with free tacos to the south and labatts to the north to welcome our new friends
*reparations to be paid to al-qaeda for the inconvienece that we have caused them by our building getting in the way of their planes and our civilians in the way of their bombs.
*the complete and total annihilation of the state of Israel, with Britain and The USA soon to follow.
This sound good to you Gary?
Damn Donkey--you've stolen my 10 point peace plan!
Again, Auroras, thanks, I guess, for your love of Israel but which Israel is it that you love so much?
(1) The expansionist Israel of Paul Wolfowitz's fantasies. One that will be America's junior partner in a second Crusade, annexing nearby countries at will
(2) The biblical Disneyland of Pat Robertson's fantasies whose fiercer and fiercer fighting with its neighbors will bring about an "end-of-days" in which Christians are raptured up into heaven and pity the poor Jewish Israelis who don't convert on Judgement Day. Death now or eternal damnation. Or both. Why do you think of their functioning long-range nuclear missiles, about 1/4 are aimed at the U.S.A.?
(3) The modern Socialist state situated -- sadly, with enemies all around -- in it's supposed "spot" as set-forth in the bible. I'm guessing The Aurora is into some combination of choice #1 or choice #2 because should they ever visit Israel they would find exactly the kind of people they hate in the United States: educated, largely secular, brilliant at business, finance, technology medicine and the arts. A country with Single-Payer health insurance, abortion on demand with none of these restrictive covenants, governed whether by Labor, Likud or whatever Ohmert is in a parliamentary system of competing interests but wholly modern. That surely doesn't sound like an Auroran paradise to me. Sounds like about the last country the Aurorans would want to exist, let alone cheer for.
I defy any of you to find ONE Israeli who wants to do your fighting for you. There has always intra-tribal disagreement between Israeli and Western Jews over any number of issues, but we all agree on Israel's right to exist and defend itself, and we all recognize that while you Crackers' money is appreciated we really don't care for you and your quaint Christian folkways very much and don't particularly feel any desire to get blown apart doing your dirty work.
good one gary:)
He had a question?
I just assumed assumed he was speaking in hypotheticals because his Fill-in-the Blank-Anonymous meeting was cancelled and he just wanted to vent.
Not sure about "Israelis" but you might want to check these guys out
The Fightin' Jews
Yeah, HE had a fucking question. What is this sudden love of Israel from you guys? Unless it falls under my scenario #1 or #2, it makes no sense. It's geographical position causes it to be militarily strong and clever, but -- and you can take this to the bank -- the Israeli citizenry are more like the, yes, French, than they are like Americans. For crying out loud, it's a Southern European Capitalist Social Democracy founded by hard-fighting Communists.
Empty the piggy banks and take an Aurora class trip. You'll either haves your minds opened or you'll be begging to come back. I say Warlike gets himself a gorgeous Sabra, goes native, and never comes back. Donkey and Rhino come back thinking "maybe those Saudis aren't so bad after all...at least there's no abortion in Saudi Arabia...what the hell are we doing supporting Israel? they don't support OUR values."
You draw a straight line from Hitler to Al-qaeda? Agree but a point on that line is Senator Prescott Bush, no? And you'd better believe Benito Mussollini's a point on that line as well.
As for the Southern Irish, here's the Kelso trivia question. WHICH FAMOUS IRISHMAN SAID, AFTER WWII, "WE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEM WITH JEWS IN IRELAND BECAUSE WE NEVER LET THEM IN"?
Donkey or Rhino or whoever (you muscled-up Yankee fans from Bay Ridge or Red Hook or Bensonhurst all seem the same to me...lots o' jewelry including crucifix, cologne, etc., kind of gangster wannabes):
I always vent. Had no meeting. I was having a nap.
You know I like your blog so when I woke up, I checked it out and had a question. That's all. You don't have to answer. I know the answer already.
Wish you could drop the insecurity and realize that we are more like each other than unlike each other. You have some idea that I have something to prove to you. I don't. I had the good fortune to be raised by smart folks; I worked hard, and when opportunity knocked I answered. No more be said on the subject. As I wrote before. I confess to being nothing more than a gnat on a dog's dick in the grand scheme.
I like your strong opinions just wish you wouldn't all be so goddamned SENSITIVE about everything. This is for fun and occasionally we each learn something we didn't know before.
Let's smoke the peace-pipe. Mine's the one with the opium (hs--jsut a joke)
Donsky,
i just don't see it. what did hezbollah give up in the cease fire?
if hezbollah breaks the cease fire, ummm so....
if Israel breaks the cease fire, they're the bad guys, and in the mean time, hezbollah is rearming itself to continue their end of world wide islamonazi crusades
and of course if you think starving the people in syria is a good idea, i have no problem with that but iran has oil, and since the enviro whackos in the U.S. fight tooth and nail to not let us drill for oil in Alaska, or off the coast of Florida or where ever, AND they also FREAKOUT if you mention nuclear power, we can't really do anything to iran at all!
Take your meds Kelso or save it for the support group.
Trying to be nice, but fair enough, Donkey, once again, it's on.
Its already been broughten.
