If there has ever been any doubt that the ACLU is an anti-American organization look no further than their lawsuit against the town of Hazelton, PA. The towns crime you ask? Well they actually had the audacity to start enforcing a crazy thing called laws (but Im just a caveman, your world frightens and confuses me), mainly regarding the illegal invasion of their town and the drain on taxpayers dollars that has ensued. Mayor Lou Barletta explains how the influx of criminals "has increased crime, overburdened schools and hospitals, and eroded the quality of life in the town of some 31,000 people." That aint racism, and it aint xenophobic paranoia thats doing his job, the numbers dont lie. And once again the ACLU is using the age old liberal tactic of accusing their extortion victim of not being nice, or as Omar Jadwat, an attorney for the ACLU's Immigrants' Rights Project, said in a statement.
"This mean-spirited law is wrong for many reasons but the most obvious is that the city does not have the power to make its own immigration laws," Omar Jadwat, an attorney for the ACLU's Immigrants' Rights Project, said in a statement.
Actually Omar yes they do, and what about the "civil liberties" of the legal residents that are funding the criminal activities of the illegal immigrants.

By definition Donsky all illegal immigrants are criminals.
ACLU LOVES AMERICA #25,873
Fought valiant but losing battle in Court Of Appeals versus NYPD over random bag searches in subway.
It's the plane trip versus car ride paradox again. (Sorry about "big words", Donsky or Donkey will explain them.) Fear-of-Flying is rampant; fear-of-car-travel barely exists. Yet, your chances of dying in a plane crash per mile approaches zero in the calculus limiting argument while your chances per mile of getting killed in a car wreck are hardly trivial.
With full recognition that The Aurora always puts country before self, the rational portion of the Auroran brain must agree that without any protection at all one's chances of being killed by a terrorist while riding an NYC subway are also effective zero. One's chances of getting caught with a joint or a pill without a backing prescription in a "random" bag search are non-trivial to the point of being likely.
And once that happens, heaven help you...if you are poor you go away; if you are middle-class you'll be paying upwards of $25K to defend yourself.
Of course, you could take the "Broken Windows" view in that ANYTHING against the law weakens our nation as a whole, so by carrying a joint with the idea of smoking it, or carrying a pill with the idea of either getting high or easing anxiety, is aiding and abetting THE TERRORISTS.
That argument becomes reductio al absurdum. Because pretty soon you get to hunting a day out of season, parking violations, and litter.
Donsky, you can't blame the small town of hazleton for not solving a national problem. the mayor of that town is solving the problem for his town. maybe his position will catch on and more mayors will adopt this position, thus forcing the criminals to either move to the big liberal cities like NY or to go home.
What I don't understand is that these illegals send their kids to our schools...The schools should be able to send them home education free for not being able to produce:
1.)Documentation of an actual, legitimate residence
2.)A birth certificate and legal documents proving their citizenship
3.)A copy of a bill for an utility paid from their residence by their parents (thus proving their residence in the town where they are trying to attend public school)
Two houses down from me, there are three adult men, two adult women & five adolescent children living in a single family home and attending the public school. They pay the same taxes for their home that I do...Go ahead and defend them but shouldn't they have to pay more in taxes especially since I am positive the town doesn't know they all live there? It's a ridiculous drain on a town's resources and I would be proud of my mayor if he enacted laws to try and fight such total and utter disrespect for the town that I love and live in...
Donkey my folks have one of those souvenir copies of the Declaration Of Independence they got at the Smithsonian or something a few years ago. One of your ancestors' names is on it, right? Gadfly, yours? Donsky, yours? Rhino, yours?
I dunno about this immigrant stuff. I do know that for a break here or a break there, all I am is Ukrainian shtetl trash. But it's nice to a least be acquainted if not particularly friendly with blue-bloods such as yourselves.
Have a cold one at your yacht club for me, okay?
well kelso, you're not really aquainted with us, we just tolerate you here at our blog.
Once again Kelso whats your point, I mean besides that you are a big shot and that your parents are/were so stingy that they couldnt/wouldnt afford to buy the original.
Just like I assume your peeps drew a circle at Ellis Island, my folks immigrated here legally as well.
Although I am indeed anti-all immigration (we just dont need the labor any longer), the illegal sort is destroying this country end of story, and this coming from a donkey that has more of an affinity to latin culture than that of the WASPy Eurotrash.
For the record nobody calls it the "yacht club" Kelso, its just the Club. Perhaps one day I will have you over for a day of it. You will of course have to shower before entering the premises, but lets not let haggle over the details just yet.
No circles at Ellis Island. Got lucky and they were able to write it legibly enough that we got to keep our Russian name.
As for showering, why not? I do it once a week, whether I need it or not, anyway.
Thanks for tolerating me. A true honor.
Gentlemen, it's been a pleasure! (Remember Tom Hanks saying that in his Jackie Gleason imitation?)
My farewells are on my blog and Anita's. Don't know what's up her sleeve, as for me, I'll be all over the place.
Keep fighting your corner fiercely.
Parting gifts from your Uncle Kelso as gleaned throughout the years:
* USA is not a low-tax country; it's a high-tax country, and the reason is that we are the only country in the world that taxes on worldwide-sourced income
* If you are in a LIMIT-game (either Hold 'Em or Stud), if you get down to the River and there's a bet into you, just bite down hard and call. The pot odds ALWAYS justify it.
* In No-Limit Hold 'Em, unless you are an ultra-tight player, buy-in for the max and make sure that max is large enough so that you can put pressure on a guy at any time
* Also, NLHE, there is nothing wrong with seeing the flop for the price of the big-blind no matter what you're holding, no matter what your position.
* Again NHLE, if you are holding a naked ace in late position and there is a bet and a raise, don't be afraid to re-raise. The worst that can happen is that opener or the raiser will push all-in with KK-QQ-or-JJ, then you may have to throw it away. You might, however, take it all down there, or you might spike the Ace on the flop, and in the very worst case you also have a back-door straight-redraw if your A is really naked like with 3 kicker
*The Florida Marlins will be the dominant team in the NL East for the next number of seasons following this one
* The stock market gives nothing away for free. If it's in the press, it's in the price. Pick something as if it's going to be the thing that pays for your kids' college educations. Find a company whose cash and marketable securities is equal to its market cap and it's dividend yield is better than Libor+50 and you've got something. It won't be fun and it won't make you rich, but you'll feel good owning it.
* Don't play cards with a guy called Doc, eat at a restaurant called "Mom's" or get involved with a woman with more troubles than you have [Nelson Algren]
* If a guy offers you 8/5 that he can make the jack of spades jump out of a sealed deck and splash cider in your ear, the true odds are even money that you'll end up with an earful of cider [Damon Runyon]...So don't get crazy and take Lieberman over Lamont unless you're getting huge odds
* Watch what the Falcons do with Vick and Dunn. If they got Vick throwing from the pocket and Dunn carrying it 30+/- times per game, they may have the best offense in the NFC. Otherwise, they are going to have two injured superstars
* Back to poker-playing in general: don't learn chip tricks, stack your chips sloppily, wear a cap that has no meaning at all, don't wear sunglasses, and if you are coming from a Wall Street job and walk into a place in which every person is wearing give-away t-shirts, sneakers and zip-hoodies, walk the hell out. That's a professional's uniform. There are people with 8 significant figures and 6000 sq ft homes who dress that way. Those people are going to check it down with each other and go for you.
* Finally, flags and emblems are fine. I guess for some wars are fine. Politics is just a pastime. What matters is your family, your health and your $$$$$. The rest is entertainment, 9/11 notwithstanding.
Stay safe, happy, and lucky.
Kelso
My wife's family came here as French pirates before there ever was citizenship in the early 1700's (not everyone who came to America early was on the Mayflower, you nitwit). I on the otherhand am of the Shanty Potato Eatin' Irish variety around the time of the War of Northern Aggression...like it or not we came here legally and were willing to take whatever name Uncle Sam gave us to be part of this great nation. So we lost the "O" or "Mc" in our names...it doesn't make us bad people!
more importantly fly, your people assimilated into the American society and the American way of life, you didn't expect America to bend to you, and that's the difference between then and now. Not only do they come here illegally, but then they also want us to change the way we live so that they're more comfortable! there should NEVER be bilingual education, there should NEVER be non english ballots or public services etc. If private industry wants to cater to that market (atm machines, telephone services etc) that's fine, but government should never bend and make it easier for these people to not change.
Amen...it's time for a national language. I don't understand why there are national languages where most of the illegals come from but not here (that would just be unfair and prejudicial?!). This is not to say that some immigrants today don't appreciate and want to assimilate to the culture but I think the majority are userous. They are looking for the silver platter.
