that clearly was a pretty stupid and irresponsibile thing to say ...

i think murtha is playing a pretty cynical game here. he has been very much the hawk throughout his career, represents a very conservative district and i can't imagine how this his bizarre stance on the war is furthing his approval with his base constituency. i believe, therefore, that he using this whole thing only to further his exposure, clout and thus his career with regard to the internal politics of the house of representatives. it's relatively well known (or so i read) that he has been very tight with nancy pelosi over the years, and should the democrats win the house, presumably this relationship with pelosi will get him the position of house majority whip.

As i have said before, who knew john murtha before he started with these crazy statements? how many times was he on meet the press? or any of the sunday shows? how often did the party leaders invite him to appear with them at any functions etc.??

Now, who DOESN'T know murtha? Like most of these scumbags, he doesn't care about his country, he doesn't care about the truth, he doesn't care about anything but himself, getting re elected, and getting power.

He's one of the cool kids now, he's on the guest list and he doesn't have to wait outside the club hoping to get picked by the gay guy at the door. that's all he cares about, that's his motivation.

"United States became a target when Bin Laden bought Exxon stock"

naaa ... bin laden and have family have most likely held very substantial positions in exxon for a long, long time. nothing new there. or outrageous ... all things considered.

i'm just curious about how much he ultimately made on the american airlines futures ...

;)

I don't think it works like that. You need to be in some industry where you're in the public eye already.
You know like how that chick from splash sat in that tree house for a week. I mean has anyone heard from her since the 80's? now she's living in a tree house so everyone talks about her. Of course i think she's an idiot, but i'm sure the hollywierdo's will give her a new movie soon, now that she's in the news again.

Anita,

Your first comment has inspired me to come up with a new terminology for the pusillanimous democrats, esp. regarding their "anti-war" behavior leading up to the mid-term elections...

"Pelosi Whipped"

I thought we became a target of terrorists when they canceled wings and then it all went back to normal when the USA network started airing Monk.

Is it me or is Tony Shaloub the most underrated Arab actor in all of showbiz?

Believe me if saying outrageous things made people famous, I'd be on the box of cereal you ate this morning.

Shaloub is a pretty good actor.

Arj Barker is the most underrated Hindu-American stand up comic.

India has something to do with Arabia.
