Sounds Familiar

So i'm watching CNBC Morning Call and they have 2 guys on debating Economy vs Environment. It reminds me of what we do here. The Economy guy is explaining that technology is cleaning up and finding new and more efficient ways to take advantage of the resources of the planet, and the Environment guy keeps saying that oil companies are evil.
So the economy guy asked "do you have any facts or is your whole argument ' oil companies are evil' "? And the Environment guy says " oil companies just want us to be addicted to oil, check out exxonsecrets.org!
So he has no facts, just conspiracy theory, and thinks we should crush our economy for the good of the spotted owl or whatever. Hmmmm interesting.

Once again The Aurora is at the forefront of the discussion. We set the table where America eats. Case in point, Last night Tucker Carlson addressed the Stephen Baldwin "Bio-Dome" issue that the Eat Yo Jesus/Aurora collaboration tackled days ago. I also have it on good authority that Kate Couric plans on simulcasting a live feed of The Aurora into her teleprompter.

Mmmm, Katie Couric
I thought Ben wanted to side w/the Canadians and bomb the Baldwins? Or was it balm?

You know there are legitmate reasons to get off fossil fuels...maybe this tool didn't know them but they exist. Weening ourselves off of them which our president has already started to encourage is necessary. Plus they are already adding ethanol to our fuel in the tri state area in an attempt to clean up our air.

Yes, there are legit reasons, but that wasn't really the discussion. The point was supposed to be Is a growing/booming economy good for the environment.

This knucklehead said no because it doesn't encourage us to switch from fossil fuels, the other side was that it is good for the environment because it funds research and development for newer cleaner more efficient ways to exploit the earths resources.

Have you guys checked out that site exxonsecrets.org. I couldnt believe my eyes. Apparently this Exxon company has a product people love, and what they then do is sell it to them at market prices dictated by supply and demand. The horror!

It makes economic sense to find alternative fuels and invest in technologies that are energy efficient and encourage sustainability. All under the umbrella of supply and demand.

"Evil" is a very loaded word.

Perhaps the word you were looking for is "napalm."

It's all about refining the Ethanol.

Ethanol is a corn based product...it doesn't save us on usage. It only saves us as far as emissions. The regulatory agencies are only issuing it in congested areas where there are high volumes of smog...it isn't upstate NY yet and I think it isn't in southern Jersey either...Diesel remains the same as it is only being added to gasoline. The main problem with it is that it needs to be filtered better than the old additive and it is lethal to a cars/trucks with the addition of sediment or water so people need to be more conscious of checking their tanks (above but especially below ground).

Are you aware of the fact that

Methonal = 1
Ethanol = 2
Propanol = 3

According to an ancient Chinese manuscript in which its so easy to read?

Vis a dictionary?

That Norman Mailer probably owns, somewhere in the complicated cluttered pleasant rooms of his pretty big apartment?
