How much are tickets? Can I get two? My friend Lou says that the Zappa family has no talent, but Vai, Bozzio, etc., are great.
$40- $500
Tickets still on sale at the box office, thru ticketmaster, thru beacontheater.net, or thru American Express events.
Your friend Lou is an ass.
I thought YOU were an ass. I'm confused now.
No. Im a jackass. Big difference.
oh. hmmm. i've got so much to learn.
...but if you don't settle down and stop calling people "ass" you just might get your ass jacked!
Just got back from Beacon and scored myself a couple seats. Saved the 35% ticketmaster "convenience" charge. Fuck ticketmaster.
Ill be the handsome guy with the stinkfoot in the lower balcony
Hey if the other Zappas are just as talented as dad then why is this a FZ concert?
OK let me count the Dweezle records in my record collection--oh --zero!!
The poster is a laugh --it says on teh side border: accept no substitute.. and that sounds like something FZ said about something..BUT
these guys are putting on a concert without
Frank --in fact they are substituting for him!!
so the laugh is on his kids..
They arent as talented as their dad, not many around that are. Should be fun regardless, with good musical guests.
I think that poster will end up being a collector's item.
yep fun is different than musical talent.
When the Mother's Of Invention came out with their first album -- NOBODY had heard anything
like that... Frank had more originality, bility and genius than most musicians will ever dream of in their life times much lees their careers.
a
Anonymous seems to be a Frank Zappa purist.
The only autograph I ever asked for or got was
from Frank in the Rochester War Memeorial in 1968. He then turned and flipped all of us the bird which at the time was a sign of RESPECT dude!!!
cool ... but you must be really old !!!
I couldnt agree more Anon, but as a young whippersnapper that didnt get a chance to see him live, Im looking forward to this. Frank was the show and musically his axe will be missed.
Im taking this for what it is. A chance for the kids to cash in, and by "accept no substitute" they're probaly referring to the numerous cover bands touring and profiting off the name.
Like I said, regardless it should be fun. Then again gimme a few beers and I could have fun in a Turkish prison. Strike that. 1992 wasnt a good year for me.
and I agree bout the Mother's album. The Beatles should be ashamed of themselves.
It would be interesting go and see..then go home and put on Freak Out and then Absolutely Free
and then We're Only In It For The Money. break outs in musical history.
No. Emphatically no.
Too bad. Hope you change your mind.
The Mothers made that album liner of the Beatles cover because they were mocking them..
Beatles album came out in 1967 - Mothers
album came out in 1968. Frank Zappa was making a joke of the Beatles.
I think if we did a survey, 99.9% of the people who know anything about Frank Zappa will be of the Male Persuasion. Why is that? How come chicks weren't into FZ?
Or maybe I'm wrong.
I think its probaly hard for most woman to get past some of sexual lyrics. The guy was pretty twisted, but essentially it was all a goof. Once you get past the sex with a vacuum cleaner stuff...and really listen to the music then you can appreciate what a genius the guy was.
Like I said the Beatles should be ashamed of themselves. I always considered The Kinks to be the better brit band of that era.
Sex with a vacuum cleaner? What's so unusual about that? It kind of makes sense it way ... for a guy ... you know what I'm sayin'?
Never mind ...
;)
