Its Getting Hot In Here...Or Is it?

"For many years now, human-caused climate change has been viewed as a large and urgent problem. In truth, however, the biggest part of the problem is neither environmental nor scientific, but a self-created political fiasco. Consider the simple fact, drawn from the official temperature records of the Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia, that for the years 1998-2005 global average temperature did not increase"

Sorry, this is one of the issues I haven't the "foggiest" idea of what to say about.

I saw Dennis Miller on TV tonight doing a show in Las Vegas. He's obviously an anti-global warming, anti-environmental guy. Unfortunately most of his jokes on those subjects went pretty flat or got booed. I interpret that as meaning the "world at large" is becoming aware that he's wrong on that subject and "the left" has been right all along.

Other than that he was pretty funny.

just because you don't believe that people are the root cause of any temperature change or ozone hole or whatever bullshit these people are saying, doesn't mean you're anti-environment.

No. But it also doesn't mean that the guys at "The University of East Anglia" have the final say on global warming either.

There IS a lot of data out there indicating that climate change is occurring, and fairly rapidly (the East Anglia guys notwithstanding). Whether (or the extent to which) this is a direct result of human activity is debatable. It's really just a matter of degree.

It's just common knowledge at this point that it is a VERY bad thing for the industrialized nations of the world to continue to pour tons and tons of toxins into the earth's atmosphere. And yes, I know, there is not a whole lot one can do about it at this point. Are we on a dying planet? Maybe.

But come on, intellectually, Dennis Miller is no Bill Maher. You've got to acknowledge that.

I always respond to Paul Shaeffer's line "Global Warming? No, Global Cooling, that's the thing".

What is global warming? Has one read the "Deep Lake Cooling" article on Wiki whereby Toronto and soon Chicago draw 4 degree C water to chill the bills? Its gotta be. Wait for the Salt Water technology for Boston, New York DC and Rome to take affect. It is so cool.

I am still reading through all the weeks on Aurora, you guys sure write so good, like a Guiding Light for a Suburbanite. Yes.

Ok, hope Will Forte is on SNL now, its 23:52 or 11:52. Peace be with you.

RHCP w/ Danny California next week. Simultaneous Release. Whatever that is, in NuWestSpeak. If Tokyo takes the Deep Water technology, it would be ok, but Koizumi, in my endless reading through this cr**, has already last year proclaimed that "NO man is to wear a tie in the summer" definitely to that effect. That hippie is the anti-Tokugawa man!

Ieyasu Tokugawa, the other word with the Teheran, Texas, Germany syllable of morality. Try to understand, from my casual point of view, that Koizumi represents an easy going society. And, that whole place is on me when I describe it, like NYC or LA is on a writer from there. Please look at Li Ka Ching, the bridge between HK and PRC, tres billionaire, to get the current look. Or, look at Hang On The Box. Eeiitthheerr wwaayy.

I dont find Bill Maher funny at all. I think alot of it is that contrary to Stewart and Miller (both of which crack me the F up) I dont think Maher has any real political convictions and hes a dumbass. I remember watching his show Politically Incorrect and being amazed how he would switch positions so easily from show to show depending on the strength of the guests so as to avoid any real confrontations (same reason he outnumbers his conservative guests now...he is weak). His persona now is directly related to his asisine 9/11 comments. I have a feeling if he was booted from ABC for advocating the use of assualt rifles his show would be on The Nashville Network. The guy is a tool!

Bill Maher always has a Republicans (often more than one) on his panels ... but not once have they ever been able to say anything to convince me that they have anything but a canned script in their heads. Talk about "tools" ...
