Time And Place
Show some respect for the deceased will ya. Funerals are no time and no place for partisan political attacks, but it sure dont stop them liberals (see Paul Wellstone). Would it be appropriate for Pres Bush to use MRS. King's funeral to point out that slavery was the tool of the Democratic Party and that a Republican signed the Emancipation Proclamation. Of course not, decorom dictates so.
However...
Jimmy Carter is a disgusting scumbag that lacks class, decency, and more importantly a memory. Is he the only one that doesnt remember the shambles he left this country in as he left office in disgrace, whos only legacy was to become a punchline in jokes about incompetentcy and peanuts.

Since no one else will ever say it (I think he's an idiot but not a scumbag) Carter has done a lot of good things after his failed tour in office...Habitat for Humanity for instance. I mean the guy doesn't have to do anything and he does...maybe he should shut his mouth but you should respect the fact that he WAS PRESIDENT, the same way you want liberals to respect the fact that BUSH IS PRESIDENT.
Fly, you are wrong. he DOES have to do these things, because like most of these guys he's an ego maniac and he knew his legacy would be as a complete failure! He has been trying to reinvent himself for decades, and now he is a shameless loser. If he had just faded away, into the sunset history would have remembered him as a nice guy, a caring man, maybe did his best during a difficult time. Now he will be remembered as the loser who (against the wishes of the clinton admin) went to north korea and told the world that kim jung il had not nuke program and wanted peace! I could give many examples like this, from haiti, to north korea, to today at this funeral where he did nothing to help his country, only to hurt it. If you can't be part of the solution, don't be part of the problem peanut boy. He doesn't deserve respect, he should just shut up and go away

let me clear it up for the foot. Carter used the King funeral as a political forum. It was wrong, and it was shameful.
Fly you mention Hab 4 Humanity "for instance" has he done anything else? I mean besides make a mockery of the Office Of President?
He has raised millions for Cancer research as many in his own faimly and his friends have died from pancreatic Cancer...he's not a bad man...I agree his is misguided and in this case he was manipulative but he is a politician at heart so it doesn't surprise me.

Before him, former presidents didn't make a habit of whacking sitting presidents. there was a respect level there. Now between him and clinton, it's just a joke! You didn't see Bush whacking clinton, and you won't see W whacking whoever comes next, that's called CLASS. something that carter and clinton obviously lack. If you're not going to be part of the solution, don't be part of the problem! In the case of carter especially, he was a complete failure as a president. so for him to judge anyone shows that he has no shame at all!
