It is this latter - our new enemies - that interests me most. I don't mean al-Qaida or Osama bin Laden, but the less visible, insidious enemies of decency, humanity and civility - the angry offspring of narcissism's quickie marriage to instant gratification.
There's something frankly creepy about the explosion we now call the Blogosphere - the big-bang "electroniverse" where recently wired squatters set up new camps each day.

She may have a point. I never trusted Michele Malkin, For all I know she had me set up, and had my friend Angel Fernandez killed. But that's history. I'm here, he ain't.
To paraphrase the Clash...
Osama don't blog and we think he should
Osama don't blog and you know that it ain't no good
Osama don't blog for his camelburger Momma
Osama's gonna be a daisy-cutter star

i saw this yesterday. i think she's just bitter because she went to school, and she knows how to spell and where to put the comma's and shit, and how to not make a run on sentence and stuff like that, and we can't do any of that shit yet people (jim) still read us.
Hate gramer snobs I do
Schadenfreude - pleasure in others' misfortunes - has become the new barbarity on an island called Blog. When someone trips, whether Dan Rather or Eason Jordan or Judith Miller, bloggers are the bloodthirsty masses slavering for a public flogging. Incivility is their weapon and humanity their victim.
God forbid someone police the media other than themselves. She sounds bitter that some of their PRESS-cious thunder might slip away...While she is careful to not completely alienate her audience because she wisely realizes blogs & bloggers are a formidable portion of the population (doctors, lawyers, teachers, etc.), but in the background is hatred of youth, young ideas, and freedom to speak one's mind. She is a hypocrite who can't deal with the fact, and I think Rhino put it appropriately, that we didn't have to suck off our editor in chief to get a story run (or our journalism 101 teacher for that matter). Maybe she should be more honest and realize that it isn't just the Jason Blair's who have driven people to alternative forms of media. It's closed or one minded, fake, & fear mongering reporters like herself.
Only a journalist in our current media would use a word like "slavering" to illustrate images of others (some her readers) as savages 9and get away with it)...Is that what we are? I'd rather be a savage living in the jungle with my tribe than a delusional creep who was probalby pissed when she had to trade in her typewriter for one of them new fangled word processors. Get with the times lady.
