So you would think, especially after the Jayson Blair situation, that the NY Slimes would be a little bit more careful before running a story. You would think that maybe the "newspaper of record" would be aware that they have a spotty record. With their circulation, and credibility way down you would assume they would double or maybe even triple check before running a politically charged story. You would be wrong of course. So they have run a story about truck loads of fake Iraqi ballots being trucked in from Iran. They had ONE UNNAMED source, and no corroboration from any other officials. Did they call anyone else to try to confirm the story? Apparently not, because the guy to call would be Lieutenant General Ahmed al-Khafaji, the chief of the U.S.-trained force which has responsibility for all Iraq's borders. So what did this official say about this story? "This is all a lie"
You see the borders are closed, all of the roads are monitored. Unless they found a way to drive these tractor trailers through the sand dunes in the desert there is no way to get them in. This is just common sense, anyone who thought about it for more than ten minutes would realize this. So why run this obviously untrue story? Well some will say it's an honest mistake, some will say they wanted it to be true and were politically blind so they believed it, like wishful thinking. I don't think either one of those explanations is the truth. I believe it was done intentionally, to discredit and undermine the elections and the war effort. The Slimes knows that they can get away with it, they will probably run a correction on page 20 in small print. They are traitors.

not only are the boaders closed, but all roads are shutdown to non-government vehicles.
So sac, you have to ask yourself, how can the slimes run this story? Their reporter is in Iraq, he knows the roads are closed, how could he think these trucks are coming through? That's why i believe they just lied on purpose.
Do you think that the terrorists who have entered the country illegally to attack our soldiers will try to vote? What kind of proof do you have to show to vote? This would be a tragedy if Saudi's and other purveyors of terror were allowed to vote on behalf of Iraqi citizens who have been through so much to get their rights heard through a democratic system.
They're expecting 60% turnout, i doubt theres enough terrorists to have any affect even if they all voted.
