Die Hard 4: Operation Enduring Freedom
No good deed should go unrewarded. Considering how badly The Aurora has been known to dump on the Garofalo soldiers of the Peoples Liberation Army of Hollywood, I figure in the name of fairness I should also heap praise when its deserved. So on the brighter side of life we have Bruce Willis, who recently starred in the excellent 'Sin City'. It seems Mr Willis, like so many Americans is fed up with the liberal bias in hollyweird, and has decided to do something about it. We here at The Aurora have long been fans of Michael Yon and the outstanding work he is doing bringing the brave and noble deeds of our American soldiers in Iraq to the publics attention. Consider this an advance endorsment of the upcoming big screen Willis/Yon collaboration. Kudos Mr Yon. Kudos Mr Willis, consider yourself now having The Aurora's most favored blog status, so check out his site Yippee ki yay. (or as FZ would say Yippy-Ty-O-Ty-Ay)

Dental floss farm lalala
Camarillo Brillo!
She had a snake for a pet and an amulet! She was breedin' a dwarf but she wasn't done yet......
Same album no????
yup. don pardo was the man
My alias used to be that I was a Dental Floss Tycoon, until the day I ran into a member of Braun family and was exposed.
Before Gadfly scolds me I will correct myself. I think I may be wrong with the Pardo/Overnite reference. I know he performed 'Im The Slime' live on 'Zappa in New York' but i may be wrong about the studio album. Ill have a listen tonite and update if correction needs to be made. Im blaming it on the tryptophan
It's over nite and you are right...I'm sure Bruce Willis appreciates you giving him your "Dirty Love" because as we both know "the poodle bites, the poodle chews it"
By the way, the Saddam trial has been postponed again until December 5th...Saddam biznatch slapped the judge and everyone for inconveniencing him. I see dead people.
Tina "Whats Dirty Love got to do with it" Turner was one of the back up singers as well.
you guys are starting to wierd me out. zappa sucks. next thing you guys will tell me is that bob dillon was a great singer.
DYLAN...and yes he is a great crooner. Have you ever heard "Freight Train Blues"? I think it's on his first album? Zappa does not suck...you take that back or your face will be blowing in my wind...so settle down disco boy.
weird you out? omigawd...what are you, some sort of Valley Girl" or something?
Dylan does suck!
Dylan sucks?...that hurts. Not me but you. I mean, I mean, how can you say that the man sucks. He probably wrote ten of your favorite songs whether you know it or not. Does Willie Nelson suck too? The Beatles? The Dead? You should have stuck to whacking Rhino (which isn't hard). But to whack an icon...someone who did more to kill Doo Wop and all the other non-sensical music being produced before him. I mean, I mean, there is only so many times you can say i love you before it gets boring. Subter.Homesick Blues is honestly considered by many as the first rap song...You should go back, rethink things, sleep and then apologize. Zappa loved Dylan...Listen to flakes and get back to me!
By the way: "hurt me, hurt me. Oh fer sure...barf me out, gag me with a spoon" You are like Lord Boofoo.
Perhaps you should go back and listen if you think that mocking Dylan and the entire beatnik/hippie culture is an homage.
But I will take it back...how can a billion china-eyed hippies be wrong. Bob Zimmerman just aint my cup of joe.
speaking of tunes...what happened to the Hall and Oates joint expose Gadfly and Jimshitz were supposed to be working on? The Beatles you ask? Im glad you brought them up as I am currently formulating a mathematical theorem to conclusively prove that The Kinks were the best band to come out of England...EVER!!!
He is actually making fun of techinicians i.e. plumbers, electricians, etc and the people who hire them...not hippies. How you got that I'm not sure but when your toilet breaks get on the phone and call up some flakes...but alas you are entitled to your opinion as far as Dylan is concerned.
As for John Denver (Hall & Oates?), I am the rusty cog holding that one up...
I wouldn't even put the Kinks in the top five...they are a good band w/some great songs but not enough quality material to challenge for the best (The Who, The Beatles, The Stones, Led Zeppelin, last but not least Herman's Hermits...or The Police)
Oh as for the Dylan starry eyed hippie thing...that was bestowed on him by starry eyed hippies...He wanted nothing to do w/the anti-everything movement, kind of like how veterans wanted nothing to do w/Jane Fonda...seriously, he disliked them.
Not a big fan of Dylan here. I guess you have to be a bit older than I am to appreciate him.
As far as Rhino not liking Zappa, I don't understand that. I think the only way someone can not like Zappa is that actually have never listened or read the lyrics.
I mean come on, how can you not get a big thrill out of listening to 'Inca Roads'? The GENIUS of his music (and Zappa was a genius musician) and very damn funny lyricist.
Gadfly - yer not holding up anything. Just whenever...I haven't even thought much about what I am going to write. Take your time.
I stand corrected Mr Fly. In my haste I lump hippies/beatniks/slakers/ and union do nothings in the same shake. Im coming to get you Im coming to get you.
You are dead balls right Jim, many moons ago I myself was in anti FZ camp myself until someone told me to ACTUALLY listen to the music.
You are on crack Fly if you dont recognize (u better recognize) the greatness of The Kinks. Perhaps your youth and MTV has blinded you. Keep an eye out for my scathing commentary on The Brit Rock Invasion in upcoming weeks.
If you are indeed correct that Zimmerman was responsible for the first rap song then I take it back...
He not only sucks, but should bust a cap in his ass!
In the meantime listen to Lola vs Powerman and The Money-go-round Pt 1 as homework. I will be prepared to argue that although not a top 3 Kinks album...it very well could be the greatest rock album of all time if my mathematical equations add up. (gonna be close theres some very tough competition for that category)
yeah, anyway, zappa sucks, and so does dillon. tell me you know the lyrics to any song that dillon sings, and i'll know you read them, because you can't understand that mumble mouthed motherfucker when he's speaking much less when he's singing. tell him to take the balls out of his mouth when he sings. the thing about zappa is that everyone says the same thing, "he's funny" so what, go get some richard pryor albums from the 70's, that shit is funny. better than zappa that's for sure.
