Yeah, Arod just stunk up the place in the post season. grounding into the double play last night was pathetic.

A-Rod is still the best non-first baseman infielder of all time though.

I see a 3 at the end of his line; me think he tooketh the golden sombrero, or am I inocorrect?

(I didn't get to see any baseball). :(

Who is the best player ever...Don't say Donny baseball because I might have to remind you that he never even played in a world series?!? Or possibly Giambi, how much did he cost this year...$20 mil? The new curse is the curse of the Giambino...The Spankme's haven't won since they got him...or since Don Ma-tingly(all tingly sitting next to the hunky Gayrod & Cheter)came back to coach. Good luck next year as everyone's pay goes up as does their age.

Best players ever? EASY!

1. George Herman Ruth
2. Ted Williams
3. Barry Bonds (no kidding)

Best pitchers ever? (HARDER)

1. too difficult to say
2. too difficult to say
3. Walter Johnson probably

Comic Book Guy says, "best player ever"

1. Ty Cobb
2. Lou Gehrig
3. Pete Rose

Ted Williams was one dimensional...he was a mediocre to bad fielder and so was Ruth. I'd agree with Barry Bonds if it wasn't for steroids and PacBell Park...

Best Pitchers

1. Cy Young
2. Walter Johnson
3. Tie - Koufax and Clemens as they were both the most dominant pitchers during their day.

It is actually harder to name the worst players ever than it is to name the best...However if I had to go w/the least clutch great player the vote would go to Arod. He hits 40+ Hrs a year and yet somehow he hits around .200 w/runners in scoring position year after year...It just goes to show you that offense is overrated because guys pad their stats in blowout losses/wins.

Ted Williams one-dimensional? No, try Ty Cobb and Pete Rose as being one-dimensional.

Ruth, Williams and Bonds all hit for exceptional power, hit for average and walked a whole whole whole whole whole whole whole bunch. They got on base 42%+ of the time their whole careers.

Williams missed 4 years in his prime due to WWII service, which would have put him over Ruth, probably.

There's always room for arguments when talking baseball!

Bonds isn't finished yet, but let's say he plays 2 more years and has 2 years like he did when he 32-33 years old, he'll be the best all-time, hands down.

Having said all that, Ruth was so far and away better than his peers - it would hard to take anything away from him.
