Sowell..

The Guy is Money In the Bank!

Why the mere relocation of imprisoned terrorists from Guantanamo to prisons in the United States is a moral issue in the first place is by no means clear, since morality deals with behavior, rather than location. But putting them within the jurisdiction of liberal circuit court judges who can find reasons to turn them loose is a much more serious issue.

Much discussion of the interrogation of captured terrorists ignores the inescapable reality of trade-offs. The real question is: How many American lives are you prepared to sacrifice, in order to spare a terrorist from experiencing distress?

Just days after Colin Powell informed us that the American people were willing to pay higher taxes in order to get government services-- and that Republicans therefore needed to stop their opposition to taxes-- California voters resoundingly defeated a bill to raise taxes in order to pay for the many government services in that liberal state.

OBUSHMA?

All of the things that the libs hated about Bush have continued and they have no problem with that. All of the things that conservatives hated about Bush (mostly spending like a drunken sailor) have continued and escalated and of course conservatives have been freaking out.
Two weeks ago Donkey made this argument to me but didn't say it nearly as well as Jack Langer.

One Question Ends the Debate

Can you name for me 1 industrialized country that has a single payer health care system where the average citizen has better health care than here in the U.S.? That's what I would ask my president if I was a reporter in the White House press corps. I realize of course that after he couldn't name one I would no longer be in the press corps. but at least I could live with myself.

Socialized medicine, like socialism itself is a failed idea. It has never worked anywhere and will never work anywhere. Why do the libs continue to push it? Some of them are stupid, some of them are lazy, and some of them just go along with the crowd. That is not the case with our president. He is NOT stupid or lazy. He is not just going along with the crowd and in fact he is leading the crowd. What is his motivation then?.....Power and control.

Lesson Learned?

I doubt it. This is a lesson we could have learned from many european countries over the last few decades but we ignored it. You can't just keep taxing the producers and think they will sit by and take it. Eventually they will either A. Leave, or B. Lose. Either way the government doesn't get their $.

So Rush Limbaugh left NY for good. Good riddens say the libs in N.Y. and if he was the only one then i could understand their attitude, but he's not. More and more wealthy people leave states like NY due to the punitive tax rates on the wealthy. Now it's happening in MD too.

So NY is in debt and raising taxes on everything from soda to toll bridges. They're increasing subway fares and doing away with property tax breaks on Long Island (I'm feeling this personally to the tune of almost 2k) and who pays these increases? The rich? I don't think so.

CA is the hotbed of liberal ideas, programs, tax policies, etc. And what is the situation there? It's a disaster. You would think these idiots would learn....Oh that's right, some of them have.

Cheney Wins!

When the libs are doing story after story on how wrong you are and how creepy you are and how stupid you are etc. You know you've struck a nerve. This is the case with Dick Cheney. Part of the problem with these fools is that they feel safe. Why do they feel safe? Because George W Bush and Dick Cheney took care of them, protected them, sheilded them from terror. Because the Bush administration had the balls to take the fight to the enemy and win.

The problem with the libs in the media is that they're smart enough to know that this is true, but can't stand to admit it. It's driving them absolutely batshit crazy KNOWING that Bush and Cheney have protected them for all this time and more importantly, Cheney won't let them forget it. So now we get this jackass (no offense donk) Andrew Cohen of CBS. You can read the whole thing HERE, but the relevant part to me is the question he asks and answers himself which i have reprinted below.

Hey Cohen, instead of calling him a Dick, why don't you just say thank you and be on your way.

How do we account for Cheney’s failure or refusal to acknowledge all that we have learned about the world since 2002? How do we explain the worldview he continues to share with his camp followers both in and out of power? Do we chalk it up to him being a stubborn, venal, self-righteous man incapable of admitting his own mistakes? Is he truly what Andrew Sullivan calls a “dead-ender?” Do we hang it on his ideology? On his Western individualism that eschews the need for consensus and compromise? Or is he, as many people say, just a dick. I hereby choose the following explanation. Cheney’s world today is still the world of September 11, 2001, a world where hijacked planes are screaming toward their targets, chaos reigns, and anything goes. It’s a world where civil liberties are endangered, laws are overlooked, and the enemy, for all we know, is truly at the gate. Cheney simply hasn’t moved beyond that mode into the realm of the present. That’s why he cannot accept that the decisions he and others made in the long shadows of that day—water-boarding, indefinite detention, Gitmo, and so on— were short-sighted and even, in some cases, counter-productive

The Ultimate LAX Bro!

Thank You Mr. Cheney

For Caring enough to put it out there. You're a patriot and a class act.

By presidential decision, last month we saw the selective release of documents relating to enhanced interrogations. This is held up as a bold exercise in open government, honoring the public’s right to know. We’re informed, as well, that there was much agonizing over this decision. Yet somehow, when the soul-searching was done and the veil was lifted on the policies of the Bush administration, the public was given less than half the truth. The released memos were carefully redacted to leave out references to what our government learned through the methods in question. Other memos, laying out specific terrorist plots that were averted, apparently were not even considered for release. For reasons the administration has yet to explain, they believe the public has a right to know the method of the questions, but not the content of the answers.

If A Chinaman Doesnt Wear A Fedora Is It News

I hate to sound like a broken record but the media's behavior should scare the shit out of everyone. Laugh now libs when its your side getting the preferential treatment but this monster is going to take on a life of its own and its not going to be good for anybody.

Stupid Jews II

Listen Iran. You guys have 6 months to start talking about possibly maybe thinking about halting your nuclear program! And that's FINAL! Unless that's not good for you, but we'll talk about then.....ONLY THE STUPID JEWS VOTED FOR OBAMA

Oh and really Obama's with you and everything, but stop expanding those settlements. NOW

Iran will NOT stop building their nuclear program just like N.Korea didn't stop even though they promised Clinton and Jimmy Carter that they would. The Palestinians will NOT accept a 2 state solution just like they didn't the last time even though they told Clinton they would when they agreed to the Oslo peace accords.

Shake Rattle and Roll...

I was in the Long Beach airport last night going through the security line when an earthquake shook the whole building. The TSA security guard said it was a big one. I don't know what all the commotion is about if that was a big one? The whole thing lasted about 5-10 seconds and some ceiling tiles came loose and that was it. I don't think i want to hear any more crap from the left coast about earthquakes anymore. Stop your whining.

And the mostly Democratic candidates he supported — looking for credibility on veterans issues and the war — lapped it up appreciatively.
Now, politicians are dealing with news that the man they believed to be a former Marine and war veteran wounded in Iraq by a roadside bomb, in fact, never served in the military — but did spend time in a mental hospital. link

Renditions....

Oh the self righteous libs. They think the lawyers who gave opinions on waterboarding should be
investigated. Gary says it's obvious they're just trying to justify torture. Of course gary can read minds so he knows.

Nancy Pelosi KNEW about the water boarding and everything else but either didn't care or didn't believe it was torture until it was usefull to her politically.

Now what about RENDITIONS? From what I understand this involves transporting captured enemies to countries that use torture to get information from them. Hmmm.....

So we have actually participated in torturing people, and the reason I bring this up is the Holder hearings. He was asked if he was aware of this practice going on during his time in the Clinton administration and his answer was YES. How many? He'll get back to us on that but he knew about it. Of course it doesn't happen anymore though right? Wrong. It's going on today in the Obama administration.

Hmmmm......

Bottom Line Is This...

Partisan politics aside.

I think it should go without saying that at the very least this country should expect some amount of honesty and competency from our politicians.

When they display neither, they gots to go.

Case in point, Nancy Pelosi.

She's either lying about what she knew about our interrogation techniques or displayed a level of incompetency unbecoming of a speaker by not knowing.

Either way, she's proven herself unfit to lead.

A Crime, A Taxpayer Waste, and A Lie

"The headquarters of Murtech, in a low-slung, bland building in a Glen Burnie business park, has its blinds drawn tight and few signs of life. On several days of visits, a handful of cars sit in the parking lot, and no trucks arrive at the 10 loading bays at the back of the building.

Yet last year, Murtech received $4 million in Pentagon work, all of it without competition, for a variety of warehousing and engineering services. With its long corridor of sparsely occupied offices and an unmanned reception area, Murtech's most striking feature is its owner -- Robert C. Murtha Jr., 49. He is the nephew of Rep. John P. Murtha, the Pennsylvania Democrat who has significant sway over the Defense Department's spending as chairman of the House Appropriations defense subcommittee.

Robert Murtha said he is not at liberty to discuss in detail what his company does, but for four years it has subsisted on defense contracts, according to records and interviews. He said Murtech's 17 employees "provide necessary logistical support" to Pentagon testing programs that focus on detecting chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats, "and that's about as far as I feel comfortable going." Giving more details could provide important clues to terrorist plotters, he said." link

... well since there are no more "terrorist" plotters in Obama's world shouldnt baby murtha return the money and close up shop? and uncle murtha resign?

Twofer Mondays

Are you following the disembowelment of Chrysler’s secured creditors with an eye not just toward what it means for the moribund car company but for what it could do to the very concept of secured debt? Has it dawned on you what the consequences will be if the President gets his way and consideration is given to creditors not according to contracts, rules, and established legal precedents but according to which group is most politically favored? And do you believe the President advanced the cause of economic recovery by publicly excoriating “speculators” who once hoped to profit by lending money against hard assets to an ailing company?

Profit? There’s no profit to incentivize risk taking in this country, only sacrifice!

Law? There’s no law to protect the politically unfavored in this country, only derision!

__________

In the opening scene, a naive investor buys some bonds, explaining to his staff that they are a sound investment secured by hard assets. Even if the company goes under, the investor explains, bond investors stand to get about 80 percent of their money back.

The next day, a government official calls and offers to buy up the bonds at 33 cents on the dollar, while giving controlling interest in the company to the labor unions. The investor refuses. That night, a man shows up at his home.

“We’re not saying anything bad is going to happen to you,” the tough says, “but the big boss is going to be very disappointed in you if you don’t take the deal. By the way, how’s your little girl? Is she still going to school down on Federal Street?” The investor caves.

The evolution of the Chrysler LLC bankruptcy seemed almost as bad. The Obama administration brokered a deal that gave labor unions a 55 percent equity stake in Chrysler, putting their interests ahead of the secured interests of bondholders.

Is It Camouflage?

Obama's doing so much at the same time that even if the media actually wanted to be a watchdog (which they don't) they couldn't.

Obama says financial sector to shrink

29 cents on the dollar? How about contractual law?

Gitmo

Not to mention the new budget, the supplemental budget, Afghanistan, CIA memo's, etc. etc.

Say What You Mean, Mean What You Say

Ok the Souter thing...

Seems everyone on the left is in agreement that Obama should put a woman on the bench. I thought the politically correct thing was to replace that which retired. So my questions is... are the dems calling Souter a chick? In other words, a fag.

I mean I know he's never been married and eats yogurt for lunch but to call him a light loafered nancy seems a bit harsh after all he's done for liberals.

And if youre going to call him a mo, then why not step up to the plate and name a full fledged flamer to replace him on the Supreme Court? Im talking Justice Rip Taylor with confetti type mo.

Man up Obama and put your cards on the table for all to see, unless of course you dont want to reveal that your position on the gays is pretty much the exact same as the Republicans.

Where Is The Outrage?

When Valerie Plame was "outed" we got a special prosecutor, calls for impeachment, accusations on everyone. The President was accused, Karl Rove was accused, Scooter Libby was convicted because he had a different memory of events that happened years before. There were calls for IMPEACHMENT!!!!! And why? There was NO ACTUAL CRIME. And how do I figure that? Well, the guy who actually "outed" Valerie Plame was Richard Armitage. Is he in jail? Was he even TRIED FOR ANYTHING? Ummmmm...No actually he wasn't. So it was no crime, but Gary was still hysterical like a little girl who found out she wasn't getting that pony!

And what happened to the "VICTIM"? Did she and her scumbag husband go into hiding? Change their identity? Have face transplant surgery? Shit did they wear a hat and dark sunglasses? NO! They went on every TV show they could find, the cover of major magazines, and WROTE A BOOK! Strange behavior for a woman who is in danger from being "outed" no?

So now we have an ACTUAL OUTING of a couple of ACTUAL AGENTS. Their names, faces, ADDRESSES! They have families and they were ACTUALLY UNDER COVER! They really have a reason to fear for their lives from terrorists. And WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE? When is Patrick Fitzgerald getting the investigations underway?

Where did these reporters get this information? Who gave it to them? What did Rahm Emanuel know and when did he know it? What about Gibbs? He's clearly not that bright, did he slip up? Ditto for Biden who Mark Levin used to call the "dumbest man in the senate" and that's saying something by the way.

So where is Waxman?

Remember this?

House Oversight Committee hearing
On
March 8, 2007, two days after the verdict in the Libby trial, Congressman Henry Waxman, chair of the U.S. House Committee on Government Reform, announced that his committee would ask Plame to testify on March 16, in an effort by his committee to look into "whether White House officials followed appropriate procedures for safeguarding Plame's identity."[49][50]
On March 16, 2007, at these hearings about the disclosure, Waxman read a statement about Plame's CIA career that had been cleared by CIA director Gen. Michael V. Hayden and the CIA, stating that she was undercover and that her employment status with the CIA was classified information prohibited from disclosure under Executive Order 12958.
Subsequent reports in various news accounts focused on the following parts of her testimony:
"My name and identity were carelessly and recklessly abused by senior government officials in the White House and state department"; this abuse occurred for "purely political reasons."
[51]

HMMMMM.....SENIOR GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS IN THE WHITE HOUSE????? Mr. Waxman? Anyone? Beuller? Beuller?

Just ran into Geraldine Ferraro on the street. First of all, doesn't look that bad. Secondly, she moves like she's 200 years old. Thirdly, that aint gonna stop me.

So I threw my rap and asked if she wanted to grab a drink. Her eyesight must be going too, cuz she said no thanks. Almost had her.

Lets Clear This Up AGAIN

Who Pays the Most Income Tax?

Higher income earners pay the most, Treasury says
By Robert Longley,

Feeling overtaxed? Under the U.S. income tax system, most of the taxes collected are supposed to be paid by the people who make the most money. Thanks to President Bush's tax cuts, that is exactly the way the system works, says the U.S. Treasury Department.
According to the Office of Tax Analysis, the U.S. individual income tax is "highly progressive," with a small group of higher-income taxpayers paying most of the individual income taxes each year.
In 2002 the latest year of available data, the top 5 percent of taxpayers paid more than one-half (53.8 percent) of all individual income taxes, but reported roughly one-third (30.6 percent) of income.
The top 1 percent of taxpayers paid 33.7 percent of all individual income taxes in 2002. This group of taxpayers has paid more than 30 percent of individual income taxes since 1995. Moreover, since 1990 this group’s tax share has grown faster than their income share.
Taxpayers who rank in the top 50 percent of taxpayers by income pay virtually all individual income taxes.
In all years since 1990, taxpayers in this group have paid over 94 percent of all individual income taxes. In 2000, 2001, and 2002, this group paid over 96 percent of the total.
Treasury Department analysts credit President Bush's tax cuts with shifting a larger share of the individual income taxes paid to higher income taxpayers. In 2005, says the Treasury, when most of the tax cut provisions are fully in effect (e.g., lower tax rates, the $1,000 child credit, marriage penalty relief), the projected tax share for lower-income taxpayers will fall, while the tax share for higher-income taxpayers will rise.
The share of taxes paid by the bottom 50 percent of taxpayers will fall from 4.1 percent to 3.6 percent.
The share of taxes paid by the top 1 percent of taxpayers will rise from 32.3 percent to 33.7 percent.
The average tax rate for the bottom 50 percent of taxpayers falls by 27 percent as compared to a 13 percent decline for taxpayers in the top 1 percent.
The White House has announced it will lobby Congress to pass legislation making most of President Bush's tax cutting measures permanent.

A man just went out of his way to pick up a penny on the avenue and just barely missed getting clipped by a cab. That would've been funny and conclusively disproved the old children's tale from the sea about "then all day you'll have good luck".
