White House Tavern

Granted I'm nitpicking here but seriously this guy is one mumble mouth mofo.

I was trying to decide earlier what key word or catch phrase Obama would use most often to turn into a drinking game. I'd be drunk by now if I drank for every misread line or mispronounced word instead.

Well drunk or dead from alcohol poisoning as I lost count at a dylanthomasesian twenty three slip ups.

Goes without saying but I'm sure that MSNBC will dub this the best speech ever.

Ill get more to the substance later after reading the transcript.

Help Me To Help All You Deadbeat Commie Motherfuckers

I suppose if I was a betting man I would have pegged me to suffer from the conservative equivalent of Bush Derangement Syndrome but despite my general cantankerous disposition Im just not a hateful person, not in my nature. I dont hate Obama.

The media's coverage of him makes my blood boil and it cracks me up how the once loud mouthed liberals remain silent as Obama continues and keeps in place Bush policy after Bush policy after Bush policy. Think Gitmo to the tune of Peter Gabriel's Biko.

I dont hate Obama. I think he's off to one of the worst starts in American history.
I think he carries Nancy Pelosi's jock strap. I think his policies will destroy this country.

Ok I might hate him a little, might just hate everything he stands for... but he hated me first.

I have no time, even if it were my inclination to do so, to take glee in his catastrophic cavalcade of fuck ups. I have bills to pay.

See, Im one of the guys keeping the lights on in this joint we call America. I cant afford to take off to march on Washington or sit around the park drawing pictures of Obama as Curious George with a Hitler stache or write strongly worded letters to the New York Times. Im too busy clothing welfare baby mammas, funding unproven alternative energies, and paying for the Monorail to Vegas, yeah thats right... Monorail.
RIP PHIL

Dont get me wrong...Im not bitter, I aint got time to bleed.

But for fooks sake Barry, step it up son. Your policies will fail and deep down you probably realize that, but perception is often greater than reality (hence, you being elected President) so heres the deal....

When you neg out the public so much that Bernanke burping after a breath mint rallies the markets two fiddy, time to realize that your fear mongering has gone too far.
Hope over fear me arse!

However this is now getting personal and youre costing me money outta me pocket. So cut the shit already, get up there and speak tonight like youre reading from a teleprompter and instill some much needed confidence in this great country of ours that even your wife was proud of once. Once. Trust me, the sheep will fall for it.

In other words. Get out of my way, and let me do my job... I have work to do.

Apparently Im rebuilding Gaza this month.

See you in July, Lake Michigan...be there!

The Cowardly Lyin'

The Rhino has conveyed his suprise that I have yet to address the comment made by Eric Holder. You know the one, about America being a Nation of cowards. That one.

I dont know whether its because Im the blackest guy he knows or that Im the resident racist at The Aurora, but he rightly thought this was right in my wheelhouse.

And it is.

But somebody has done did said it better than I possibly could so I will break all interweb protocols and just go ahead and copy right click paste another bloggers post on the subject word for word. If the author has a problem with it, Ill just call him a racist and get Al and the Gang to march on his office.

"According to the new Attorney General, Eric Holder, speaking today at the Justice Department, we’re a nation of cowards because we don’t talk about race enough. I have several responses to that grotesque statement, most of which aren’t printable. But I will say this much: If the past discussions about race in which I’d participated (voluntarily and otherwise) didn’t always – not often, not most of the time, but always – devolve into name calling, where I was denounced as a racist (usually as a starting point for said conversation), then I might today be more willing to continue to have discussions on the subject. I suspect I’m not alone in this.

In my experience, anyone who doesn’t immediately and enthusiastically subscribe to the idea that all American whites are active oppressors against other races is an irredeemable racist. Of course if you do agree you’re still a racist, just one of the self confessed variety.

In the interests of full and fair disclosure, I’m apparently also a misogynist, a homophobe, and a Nazi, this according to folks (some of whom were friends and colleagues) upon finding out that I have problems with feminism, gay marriage, and gun control. There were other accusations I could list, given time, but the truth is such incidents are too common and never important enough to be worth devoting too much of my time and memory.

So here’s my response to our distinguished public servant.

Dear Mr. Holder: serious and thoughtful conversations about race aren’t possible in today’s American culture, where name-calling and hurled epithets are the acme of discourse. Name-calling is a conversation ender. Always. And here’s some more cold water to pour on your notion: Name-calling is the proprietary weapon of the left. There’s no equality of blame, no comparison. We on the right aren’t “just as bad.”

That’s why I don’t play your silly games anymore. I only ever talk about important matters like race and gender politics with those for whom there is still the possibility of serious discourse and reasoned debate. Once again, I suspect I’m not alone in this. Your side has taken itself out of the game, and until such time as you on the left can get your house in order, you aren’t worth a reasonable man’s time or effort.

Here’s a hint though. Calling everyone a coward isn’t a good place to start.

In the meantime, I’ll continue to live my life, free of prejudice, never oppressing anyone, hating no one on a group basis, and not participating in your cloud cuckoo world of vicious and hateful pan-victimology, where even making funny faces is now a crime worthy of multi-billion dollar lawsuits. Your world is no longer a serious one, and I’m no longer interested in wasting my valuable time there.

Best of luck though." -- Bill Willingham

In other words, pack it up libs, your race card has been revoked.

Reached in the Miller Cooler....

Grabbed a cool BUD!

I mean how stupid are the legislators in Oregon. They're going to raise the beer tax by 1900% on companies that brew in Oregon? Talk about cutting your own throat. Sure some die hards will pay extra, but won't most people just switch to Sam Adams or Bud or something?

Seriously it's libs gone wild around here.

Oregon idiots

A Dying Breed

The Donkey and I have had this discussion on many occassions. Where are the Michael Kinsley Libs? What happened to them? You know what i mean, the ones who were honest, smart, thought provoking, and could even sometimes make sense and give PJB or Sununu a run for his money? They're a dying breed. These days the libs call themselves "progressives" which seems to be a euphemism for Bush hating socialists. There's still one around though and again although we rarely agree with her we respect her.

Government Killed The Satellitte Star

Lets be perfectly clear about this. If XM/Sirius file bankruptcy this week, it will be the direct result of the Fed's intervention on behalf of its terrestial lobbyist clients. The FTC, DOJ and Congress got paid to kill a company. Period.

'The Exxon Mobil merger took 11 months of review from the FTC in 1999. Now, these two companies competed competitively in 40 markets and the resulting merger has grown into the largest privately held company in the world. ExxonMobil has the largest sales and profits from any privately-held company ever.

Whirlpool's purchase of Maytag took 7 months to approve in 2006. At the time, Whirlpool was the market's largest appliance manufacturer and Maytag was the second. After the acquisition's approval, Whirlpool manufactured over 50% of the dishwashers in the U.S. and 70% of the clothes washers and dryers. Analysts agree that Whirlpool's products' prices have risen since the acquisition.

AT&T's purchase of Cingular, in 2004, took 7 months to be approved. It created the nation's largest cell phone company.Again, Sirius and XM are hoping to merge to own 4% of the radio market.

It's been over a year to decide if Sirius and XM will be a monopoly? Incidentally, Sirius and XM's merger is valued at $4.5 billion, while ExxonMobil's was $80 billion and AT&T's purchase of Cingular was $41 billion." link

Actually it took almost two years for approval, those quotes are from an old article. This is what happens when Big G Government over-regulates industry and unnecessarily interferes in private enterprise. This is what happens when lobbyists (nice flip flop Obama) control Washington.

It should also be noted that a major stipulation in agreeing to let these two companies merge was that they had to give channels to minorities. Much the same way the Fed mandated banks give home loans to unqualified minorities that got us into the recent housing/credit crisis, and much the same way the new stimulus bill plans on fixing the economy by paying people not to work and by forcing companies to invest in unproven technology.

I got nothing against minorities, hell as a heterosexual catholic conservative and caucasian male I now am one, and I still rock a Mini-Disc player, so Im a big fan of unproven/failed technology, difference is Uncle Same that didnt need to write a law or impose a tax to make that the case.

I will close with a quote from President Gerald Ford.

"If the government is big enough to give you everything you want, it is big enough to take away everything you have."

From same article, Jim Cramer names names. link (watch the video)

Pinhead

I gave up on O'Reilly ages ago but still dvr his show for Bernie Goldberg and Dennis Miller, two of the funniest and astute political commentators around.
The reason I stopped watching is not because I disagree with him, resent his phony populist persona, or even that he lost donkey cred with me when he ignorantly questioned Stephen Colbert's Irish heritage because his middle name is Tyrone. As in County Tyrone you jackass.

What bothers me most about O'Reilly is that he can't debate his way out of a paper bag. He constantly loses to lefties he has no business losing to. The reason for this is simple, he argues like a liberal. Emotionally.

Case in point, he got schooled tonight by some young broad from the Women's Media Center who looked like she was one Starbucks run away from her summer internship.

The issue was whether O'Reilly was an ageist and sexist for comparing Helen Thomas to a witch. He let the guest Courtney Martin frame the argument about the word witch and he back pedaled from the word faster than Ray Liotta apologizing for calling Joe Pesci funny.

Helen Thomas DOES look and sound like a witch.

A nasty nasally shriveled shrew of a half breed troll witch.

Debate over.

Where's Waldo......

Or even better, where's Bernanke? We're looking at a trillion dollar "bailout"(not including the 1.5 trillion that treasury is messing with) and we haven't heard a peep from the chairman of the federal reserve.
Bernanke is also an expert on the great depression. It might be interesting to hear what he has to say about what's going in the economy right now.
Why the silence? Self imposed or does anyone else think the administration is keeping him under wraps?

Finally, I want to make a comment about this "crisis" that we're facing. Unemployment is at appox 7.5% which means that 92.5% of America has a job. Forclosures are at less than 5% so at least 95% of America is still making their mortgage payments.

Is this a crisis?

In the early 80's Reagan dealt with unemployment over 10%, the worst recession in 30 years, energy strangleholds and prices that were at historical highs. He battled the "Evil Empire" and a hostile democrat congress (no, they're not the same thing but they might as well be) and all he did was turn the entire country around without mortgaging our future and our childrens future. He cut taxes on investment, he cut income taxes, and he inspired a nation to greatness.

So here we have Barack Obama coming into office in a very similar situation although I would argue it's not as bad as what Reagan had to face, plus Obama's party has complete control of congress. Why would anyone NOT try to do the exact same thing that Reagan did? If your true agenda is to return our economy and our country to greatness why wouldn't you follow in the footsteps of the man who did it less than 30 years ago? Unless that's not really your agenda......

It's Been 3 Weeks....

Just 3 weeks in and Obama is poised to become the biggest spending President EVER.

Whether you measure it in total dollars, as a percentage of GDP, adjusted for inflation, it doesn't matter.

Does anyone else think this is just the beginning? Do you realize this trillion dollar package isn't including the other half of the TARP money that congress already approved?

Speaking of TARP, what ever happened to the first 350 billion?

So here we are, 3 weeks in and Obama's naming Czars to run things out of the Whitehouse, taking over the Census (to potentially rig up the electoral map), expanding socialized health care through the age changes in medicaire and medicaid and through the expansion of the SCHIP program, and of course as was previously mentioned he's spending more money than any President in history. He's on record as saying he want's the unions to regain the power they used to have by eliminating the secret ballot and of course he's shutting down GITMO and suspending the charges against unrepentent terrorists. This is in addition to the previous post where i pointed out that the President is intent on shutting down his most vocal critics on talk radio.

Good job Lily.

Eggs Over Easy or Sunny Side Up?

"From crisis to catastrophe. Off a cliff. Dark, darker, darkest. Mortal danger of absolute collapse. Armageddon. President Obama and top Democrats on Capitol Hill are deploying these and other stark predictions of doom and gloom to push through their economic-stimulus package." LINK

FAS - CISM....

fas⋅cism

1.(sometimes initial capital letter) a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.
2.
(sometimes initial capital letter) the philosophy, principles, or methods of fascism.
3.
(initial capital letter) a fascist movement, esp. the one established by Mussolini in Italy 1922–43.

"You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done." POTUS Barack Obama

Congress will consider legislation to extend some of the curbs on executive pay that now apply only to those banks receiving federal assistance, House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank said.“There’s deeply rooted anger on the part of the average American,” the Massachusetts Democrat said at a Washington news conference today. He said the compensation restrictions would apply to all financial institutions and might be extended to include all U.S. companies.

Where is the outrage? These are truly fascist moves and yet i don't hear the outcry from the left.

We here at The Aurora have always known that the left are just a bunch of fascists. From the days of Woodrow Wilson with his secret police, on through the Hoover years and the grand social experiment that was FDR's "New Deal", all the way up to the "Great Society" years of LBJ.

We thought their days were over when it was revealed that socialism/communism/fascism (really they're more similar than you think) failed EVERYWHERE that it was tried, including here in the U.S. and the great Ronald Reagan showed the way to true freedom. But it turns out they were just biding their time until they had a crisis, and enough control of the media to regain their positions in power.

Congratulations Lily, you got your candidate and your congress and for the first time in generations your daughter's standard of living will be lower than her mothers.

Theyre Just The Jealous Times

A liberal co-worker tried to make the point today that The New York Times is not liberally biased propaganda after all considering the way they let Obama have it today by calling for the withdrawal of Daschle and calling into question the overall unethical tone of his cabinet.

Hell even Daschle himself was shocked...

"and when I saw what the Republicans were saying and read The New York Times, I called the president this morning."

The Aurora isnt surprised at all.

The only thing that can trump the Times' bias is their petty bitterness. Obama hurt their feelings, as reported a few weeks back by Michael Calderone in his blog "Obama Breaks Times Tradition" and now the Times, like a jilted lover is cutting out Obama's face from their scrapbook.

I was dreaming of the past. And my heart was beating fast, I began to lose control, I began to lose control, I didn't mean to hurt you, I'm sorry that I mad you cry, I didn't want to hurt you, I'm just a jealous guy, I was feeling insecure, You night not love me any more, I was shivering inside, I was shivering inside, I was trying to catch your eyes, Thought that you were trying to hide, I was swallowing my pain, I was swallowing my pain. -- Lennon

Today was a temper tantrum nothing more and like most emotional train wrecks, all its going to take is one listen of the mix tape Obama made them from the Summer '08 Pajama Jam Party Mix to have the Times scrambling for the scotch tape.

Democrats Hate Old School Hip Hop

Being a Conservative in NYC sometimes feels like being a Mets fan during the mid nineties. You root for and support your team, but deep down in places you dont talk about, you know that the post season just isn't in the cards... even when they look good on paper.

I know I know I'm a bad fan, but also a realist.

... and the proud owner of a signed Bernard Gilkey bat.

As such, during the lean years I find myself following the minor league teams from my youth...The Chefs. Great google moogley! I mean the Chiefs in the International League and the Single A Hagerstown Suns.

Same goes with politics.

I never have much to choose from locally, so I keep on eye on the local politics of upstate New York and Maryland and throw my support behind candidates that I like and that I think can win. The last candidate I wrote a check to was Michael Steele. He was the 1992 New York Mets. Looked good on paper, but never had a chance in the heavily Democratic Maryland. I put on my team jersey anyways and wrote him a check. Actually comparing him to the '92 Mets would be an insult to him as he ran a great campaign and had hands down the best interweb clips going at the time (youtubegoogle them)

However this post isnt about debating his merits as RNC Chairman (he's gonna do fine), but rather the treatment he is receiving from the liberal media. Ive covered the past injustices pretty extensively in the past.

I Will Say It Again

Tokens Are For Buses

Democrats Hate Black People

A Dark Delicious Cookie Is A Horrible Thing To Waste

So Im not gonna dwell on the past but rather focus on the now. Cuz Im zen like that. Im talking about how the liberal media is intentionally misquoting Michael Steele. He did not say "How do you like me now". What he said was...

How Ya Like Me Now!

Get it right whitey.

Snowballed

There is a bit in the movie Clerks where Dante and his girlfriend Veronika compare the numbers of past lovers. It was of great relief to Dante when he learned that, including him, she had only "been" with three guys.

Much the same way I imagine that Obama felt upon discovering that good ol' buddy pal Tom Daschle had never officially registered as a lobbyist. After all Obama had promised the American people that the change he was bringing to Washington wouldn't include lobbyists in his administration.

“We are here as public servants, and public service is a privilege. It’s not about advancing yourself or your corporate clients.”

"We need to close the revolving door that lets lobbyists come into government freely and lets them use their time in public service to promote their own interests when they leave. Government hiring will henceforth be based on qualifications, competence and experience, not political connections.”

Well except for the one and only "unique exception" that he made with William Lynn.

...and Bill Corr

...and Mark Patterson

Thing is though that with Daschle much like it was with Veronika its all a game game of semantics. See, although claiming to have only have "been" with three guys (including Dante) Veronika had "gone down" on thirty seven guys.

(not in a row)

It's ok, she wasnt in love with them.

Tom Daschle is not an attorney, yet he received a sweetheart seven figure gig at one of the top health care lobbying law firms in the country. You do the math. Whether he had "been" with their clients as a lobbyist or "went down" on them as a consultant, the results are the same.

Daschle is a whore.

... and any Republican that votes to approve him is an enemy of the taxpayer. The Aurora is putting you on notice.

He parlayed his stint in Congress to peddle influence on the health care industry's' behalf with former colleagues. The very same industry he will be overseeing as Secretary of Health and Human Services. In other words, that's not change, its more of the same.

His tax problems are perfectly explainable. He's a Democrat.

It comes as no surprise to me that another one of Obama's appointees is a felonious tax scofflaw, after all it was Obama himself who has set the tone by failing to pay the proper taxes on his Rezko Timeshare without incident, media coverage or concern, what is surprising me is that the man that was supposedly bringing intelligence back to the White House is so damn dumb. Yeah I said it, Obama is dumb.

...or he just doesn't care, because he knows the press will give him a pass.

...and most disheartening the Senate Republicans will kowtow and green light his picks anyways as they have been. 94-2 vote for Hillary? Seriously?

He has without question assembled what has to arguably be the most corrupt/ethically challenged cabinet and administration in modern history. Dream Team my ass, more like Sloppy Seconds.

So much for change.

At least we still have hope.
