If I was wealthy enough to be affected by the millionaires tax in NY. I'm a big fan of Austin. Beautiful city, kind of liberal but i'm used to that. I would "summer" in NY because it's hot as hell in Texas in the summertime. Texas has no state income tax at all and I'm a big fan for their governor. In fact I'm hoping he runs for President. I'd vote for him.
The bigger point of course is that taxing the rich doesn't work. It costs states (and countries) tax revenue, jobs, etc. It has been proven over and over again.

All my exes live in Texas.
I actually tend to agree with you on NY raising taxes on the rich. I support raising their taxes nationally back to where they were during the Clinton years.
As for Perry, how about a Perry-Palin ticket? Both have flirted with secessionist extremists, both have faced rumors of adultery(gay adultery in Perry's case). I think a Perry-Palin ticket would galvanize the base and could perhaps sweep 25% of the vote.
funny how the libs claim to love the homosexuals but then insult conservatives by calling them homos.
Kind of like how they love minorities as long as they're liberals. Just ask Steven A Smith.
It's not my faulti that so many Republicans are closeted homosexual--nor do I care except that they are always the most anti-gay publically.
I don't think there are enough millionaires out there any more to warrant a millionaire's tax. Our government has done it's best to limit number of truly wealthy people to the point where their "minority status" kind of insulates them from these kinds of policies.
I think the taxes should extracted from the corporations, not the individuals, that move off-shore to tax havens rather than pay U.S. taxes.
3 things anita.
1. do you think it's a good thing that the government has done it's best to limit the number of truly weatlhy people?
2.You do realize that the first cut corporations make is employees right?
3. finally, if you raise taxes too much individuals AND corporations move off shore. You can't tax a foreign entity so then what? tariffs? good idea. this way the consumer is paying the taxes.
I don't know why common sense always escapes the liberal mind.
