Friday night booze rant.
I just gone done watching Glen Beck tonight which I recorded, and he interviewed David Horowitz, who is an admitted radical of the 60's. Horowitz' parents were card carrying communists and he himself was a radical. He went on to quote Alinski's book "Rules For Radicals" witch we all know Obama is following to the tee. But what I found interesting is Horowitz' comment "The big secret of the left is that it claims to, which is of course the democratic party, it claims to be the champion of poor people, minorites, women, children, when in fact it is the oppressor of women, children and monorities." They use these people and push these people, ie: ACORN and throw them into the fire and when they are opposed the left says we are opressing them. I blame the republican party for not stepping up to fully expose this. Conservitives need to start pointing this out. Horowitz then says "...the democrats are great at pretending to be on your side.." Now I don't know about you but I do not want a communist/socialist society and if you're a democrat and that's not what you signed up for, THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE GOING TO GET! I'm not even mad at the people who voted for Obama anymore. I know you were duped and I know you're ignorant. It's not your fault. Just admit you made a historical mistake and realize you voted for an ideology that fails.

So, is Glenn Beck like rightwing porn that you watch when you're drunk? I do agree with one thing Beck said on that clip, "it sounds crazy." Beck is obviously a lunatic (or maybe he just plays one on tv.) Horowitz comes across as very professorial but he's a leftwing loon who became a rightwing loon, paranoid and dangerous.
You should have seen Keith Olberman's parody of Beck over the last few days. Hilarious. "Soylent Green is people!"
On this fellow Van Jones, I don't know. Says he used to be a Communist. As far as I'm concerned anyone who was ever a Communist (unless maybe in the 1930's) is just lacking something in their intellectual makeup, and maybe they abandon Communism but there is still something lacking. That would include Horowitz. So Van Jones being a former Communist concerns me. As far as him calling Republicans "ass-holes" well that was impolitic but really is it even in dispute? And he signed a petition calling for a new investigation on 9/11. I might have signed that myself. Daniel Ellsberg and Peter Dale Scott signed it. The problem is that the group packaged it with a press release that goes way beyond anything in the petition.
Anyone who thinks that Obama is some sort of far-left radical stealth candidate is nuts. He's trying to do the things he campaigned on. If anything he has backed off of some of them, and is being criticized on the left for it. You can disagree with him but he won the election and healthcare reform is no more "radical" than Medicare or Social Security. Yes, Barack Obama is a liberal! He didn't try to hide it, so I don't think he can be faulted for pushing the proposals and policies he ran on. The problem is that people like Beck and Horowitz (and Savage and Coulter and deSouza) have been calling liberals traitors for years. Just like the Right used to do during the Clinton years, and the JFK years for that matter. Well, I'm sorry but JFK wasn't a traitor, or Clinton, or Obama or liberals in general.

I'm saying that only an idiot would ever be a Communist and that makes me a Communist? Obviously you must subscribe to the "logic" (and I have to put that in quotes) that liberals are Communists, which is not only factually incorrect but stupid beyond belief. Name one liberal democracy in history that ever became a Communist state.

To the extent that I have an ideology, I would say that I am a moderate liberal. How does that make me a Communist. To be clear, I vote NO on Communism in America. Your logic seems to be that supporting any social program is socialism, and socialism is Communism, so anyone who supports social programs is a Communist.
