Corporations Don't Pay Taxes!

I don't know why the general public doesn't understand this, or maybe they do. I don't know. What I do know however is that liberals always argue for higher corporate taxes. Why?

Big corporations that pay all these taxes just pass that expense on to the consumer. Raise their taxes and they will raise their prices. It's really simple and yet stupid liberals can't seem to figure this out. Or maybe they have figured it out but are counting on the voting public to not be able to figure it out so they need a bad guy to punish in the name of fighting for the little guy.

Which do you think it is?

I mention this because of the coming debate (will we have one?) on the Waxman cap and trade bill. I can't say it any better than Joseph Phillips at Big Hollywood.

OK, I'm going to try this again but it won't be as good. Cap and trade worked on acid rain and conservatives loved it because it utilized market forces. It's not a tax (you can't tax C02) it's a financial penalty for polluting. If Companuy A is over it's limit,it can purchase a credit from Company B. Sure A can pass that onto it's customers, but this gives B a competitive advantage. Get it?

Of course there's no reason to do anything if you don't accept the science on global warming, but most non-idiots do. It's not just computer models predicting GW it's scientists measuring it. The Earth is warming, not cooling. You will probably link to some LaRouche publication, or a press release from Senator Inhoffe's office, or whatever. Meanwhile the adults are working to solve the problem.

Gary, the earth is warming. We all know this. I don't see your point.

The guy in the link Joseph Phillips says the Earth is cooling. That seems to be the latest wingnut position.

Well it all depends on the time frame and that article doesn't specify that. So, it's really not smart to say it's a wingnut position until you know all the facts about what is meant.
