I agree with the King that a rightwing government in Israel is in the best postion to negotiate peace, but I do think that will require some American pressure.
The broad outlines of an agreement have been around for a long time: a two-state solution, recognition of Israel by the Muslime world, some sort of internationalization of Jerusalam. A peace agreement is strongly in America's interest. And a President who appointed Rahm Emanuel is hardly likely to betray Israel.
Only time will tell whether Obama will be the American President to broker peace in the Middle East. I hope so. What is your position: Peace Never?

A hard line will necessarily lead to more violence. Compromise on the part of both the Isrealis and Palestinians is absolutely necessary or it's over.
