One Question Ends the Debate

Can you name for me 1 industrialized country that has a single payer health care system where the average citizen has better health care than here in the U.S.? That's what I would ask my president if I was a reporter in the White House press corps. I realize of course that after he couldn't name one I would no longer be in the press corps. but at least I could live with myself.

Socialized medicine, like socialism itself is a failed idea. It has never worked anywhere and will never work anywhere. Why do the libs continue to push it? Some of them are stupid, some of them are lazy, and some of them just go along with the crowd. That is not the case with our president. He is NOT stupid or lazy. He is not just going along with the crowd and in fact he is leading the crowd. What is his motivation then?.....Power and control.

Obama says health care changes must come this year

You ask a good question, and I'm not sure I have the answer. I saw Michael Moore's "Sicko" recently and he interviewed a number of people in England and Canada who seemed to like their health care system. No doubt their systems have their problems, and even their "horror stories", even as ours does.

I believe that everyone should have access to good health care. That is my starting principle. How to get from here to there is the question. If conservatives have ideas, let's hear them.

Who were those people Michael Moore interviewed? Were they really from Canada and England? Were they actors? Were they paid to say what they said? I really hope you are not formulating your position on helath care from a Michale Moore movie!

So you believe everyone should have access to good health care. What does that mean exactly? Do you mean "access" as in "free"? Or access as in the availability? Aren't we already there???? I have access to good health care. You don't? Johnny Wadd in the slums of Alabama doesn't or does he?

Actually everyone in America has access to good health care even if they're not citizens. However, if you're looking for a solution to a problem that you say exists first we need to be honest about the problem. How many people are uninsured? How many of those are citizens? How many of those are temporarily uninsured due to moving from one job to another or some other situation? How many could pay for their own insurance but choose not to because they'd rather have a really nice car?

I'm not an expert and don't have all the figures but i know that the 40 million number is bullshit.

In other words, i don't think we have a problem, but if you want to insure everyone there must be a free market way to do it. loosen up restrictions, allow me to buy my insurance from a company in Montana if its cheaper and offers less coverage because i'm healthy and don't need a ton of coverage. etc.

More importantly, the model that Obama and co. want to use is the model that they use in Canada. Even if you think Canadian health care is on par with ours (i doubt it) the FACT is that it's much more expensive and eats up a huge percentage of GDP. So why switch it up?

More importantly, can we all admit that politicians do what's good for politicians? If so, do you really want them making decisions on your health care? Don't we know that they're going to do what getst them reelected and if that means screwing you over it doesn't matter to them? I'm not talkig either party, i'm talking ALL OF THEM. If you're part of their constituency then great for you, but if you're not and you need something you're fucked.

All around it's bad.
