Watch the Italian (I think) tape and it shows Obama doing a backwards leg lift like a school girl dancing to her first slow song ladies choice catching a make out. all this is part of the protocol learning curve that every president and first lady have to go through, particularly when said president and first lady are of less privileged backgrounds than your average world leader.
michelle was REQUIRED to curtsy for the Queen of England, was she not? and if she didn't it would have been an international crisis.

ANITA, I HAVE A FEW POINTS ON THIS.
1. If Bush had done this it would have been "PROOF" that he was in bed with the big oil Saudi regime
2. Clinton was crushed for bowing in '94
3. If you're from a "less privileged" background would that make you more or less likely to know that the Saudi's bow to their king? I would argue LESS and therefore he knew it before hand.
4. What does this say about his team? Shouldn't he have been more prepared by his advance team? Isn't he responsible for putting his team together?
It's funny how the U.S. media fawns over him and declares everything rosy but the international media is mocking him.
Weren't the libs all concerned about how unpopular we were when Bush was president? Are we any more popular now? I don't think so.

4. yes, he should have been more prepared, but if you watch the video of it, it seems like he reached out from a rather far distance to shake the guy's hand, and then his body tilted at the waist inward (in what looks like and probably was a bow). to ME it seems like he wasn't sure exactly what to do and was caught off-guard.
the international media isn't mocking him. they've picked up on a few mistakes and made some hay out of it. which is ok.
we are not less popular. we are far MORE popular now. well, at least our president is, and the international community is happy we dumped the last guy and got this new guy.
